My Havanese and my YorkiePoo love it. We're always cautioned to introduce our fur babies to new food little by little, but either mine have an easy stomach and a healthy appetite, or the Lotus Lamb & Turkey Liver (and the Sardine & Herring, too) product is a top quality product that benefits them the most. I say it's both. Now I'm back to order more from Lotus. My babies deserve only the best.
This food is pricey as it should be, But for a big dog, it gets expensive so I use this as training treats and to go food. I cook for my dogs and use this as a base for the big girl, put a half cup in the bowl before her home cooked food. It resembles little cookies. She loves it so much. Or I take it in the car when we travel as well.
Our Frenchie did not do well with this food...sour stomach and vomiting.
My 14 year old tweenie Dachshund did not like this kibble at all. My 8 year old rescue Doxie eats anything, so ate the kibble only if mixed with wet canned dog food. I won't be ordering this product again. I like healthy foods for my dogs but if they don't eat it, what's the use?
Sorry for the headline guys but my 20 lbs Boston terrier produces such huge amount of poop on this dry food that it surprised me every time we go outside. The quality of food is good, it smells and looks decent, my dog likes it very much, I like the condition of her coat and health so far. Just for the info, my dog started to gain weight on Lotus although I give her lesser amount of food than it stated on the food bag, so take a closer look at your dog's waist for the first few weeks and adjust the appropriate amount for your pet.
I was cooking for him awhile. Decided to buy what was listed as Best tested dry dog food in "Whole Dog Journal" magazine. I couldn't find the #1 they list but Lotus was 2nd. I trust it has complete nutrition I cannot guess and mnake for my dog. It also does not have the bad dog food smell of dry dog foods I bought in the past.
My dog loves this food. I add some bone broth or almond milk and he eats it all within a few minutes!
Research says as a dry food option that "baked" dog food such as Lotus is supposed to be a much healthier alternative to average extruded dry dog food. My dog seems to like it, but not love it. I pair it with a healthy canned option so we'll have to try it for a bit and see how it goes. I wish raw feeding wasn't so expensive. That is the route I prefer over any other!
This kibble is 1 of only 2 brands on the market that uses a process of baking in small batches versus high heat methods employed by just about every other kibble producer out there. Also its a small company that sources its ingredients carefully. I've used several Lotus kibble recipes and my Pitbull loves them all. She is lean, has a healthy shiny coat and my Vet says her bloodwork is like a young puppy. She is 9 years old. I love Lotus and recommend it to anyone is looking for a superior product and willing to pay a little more for it. In my mind its worth the cost knowing I"m not feeding my BFF a product that can contain all kinds of highly questionable ingredients. Also like the Lotus Small Bite products that cater to the little guys.
The dog food was the great quality I had hoped it would be. My dogs love it and it was an easy transition. The food arrived so quickly I was actually shocked. This was my first purchase on Chewy but will definitely not be my last. Thanks
