The only wet food my cat will eat

By Bella on Sep 1, 2021

I have to say I am very shocked that my cat LOVES this food. She’s been a ‘dry food’ cat her entire life. I tried introducing her to wet food for years and she just wouldn’t eat any of it until now. She doesn’t even want to eat her dry food anymore because she’s so obsessed with this pork pate. Would rather go hungry

By felkei on Aug 3, 2020

Unfortunately, my kitty wouldn't have anything to do with it. We' ve been trying out "novel" proteins for her IBD. It doesn't smell bad to me but my cat just wouldn't eat it. She actually tasted it the first time I gave it to her, but that was it. Maybe it would work for your cat.

    Cats approve!

    By on

Tried this food as a novel protein. Had good reviews and appreciate the lower (than many) phosphorus levels. It is a little on the "pasty" side - easily solved by mixing in a teaspoon or two of water. All three cats approve!

The answer for my picky eater with digestive issues

    By on

My super-duper-picky 16-year-old Norwegian Forest Cat has mild IBS so it's been tough finding something he can will that won't make him sick. I've tried everything, including raw frozen and raw homemade. I discovered Lotus Pork Pate and he is IN LOVE. He chows down with gusto and eats nearly 1, 12 oz can each day (he's a big guy but not overweight). Romps around like a kitten. Purrs while eating. No more barfing. Dances around the kitchen begging for more. My vet told me that pork's amino acid content is closer to that found in rodents (mice, rats) than any other meat used in cat food. So for the extra-picky eater, this may be exactly what they've been craving their whole lives. Cat went NUTS asking for more!

    By on

My cat is a somewhat picky eater. He has not had pork before and isn't really used to pate, so I was a little nervous that he wouldn't care for this. He's allowed to free-feed on dry food throughout the day, so he only gets half a can of wet food as a nice treat for dinner. I gave him his first half of a can of this, and he went absolutely BONKERS! He was zooming from one end of the house to other bouncing off things, and deeply yowling like he was high as a kite. I was a little concerned, but since he had eaten every last bit of it, I decided to go ahead and give him the rest of the can that night. As soon as he got the remaining half of the can, he ate it up and was completely fine the My cat is a somewhat picky eater. Apparently he just loved it so much that he had to go crazy to let me know how much he appreciated it! He kind of turned up his nose at other wet foods for the next few days in protest to them not being more of this. It is definitely a winner according to my cat! … more

all 3 cats turned their noses up at this food. No go. Not sure if it was the smell, the texture, or both.

Great ingredients, but a dry pate

    By on

High quality, but very dense and dry pate that none of my 3 cats really liked. They'd reluctantly eat it if I added warm water, but not straight out of the can :(

    Just Awful!

My two Maine Coon cats love the Just Juicy Pork but hated this Pork Pate. Frankly it smelled so bad I thought it was spoiled.

    Our Cats' Choice

    By on

We've been feeding our several indoor cats Lotus Pork Pate for over a year. While they have always liked it, our most recent batch of cans make us wonder whether something is a bit different in the taste. It's obvious that the consistency of this batch is different, as it is much more moist. In any event, the cats have gone from liking the food to LOVING it. As soon as I open the closet door in the morning to get a can, I turn around to find eager faces looking up at me. And when I put the food down for them, it's gone within a few minutes, whereas it formerly lasted several hours before needing to be replenished. I don't know whether this case is a fluke or what, but if it IS a fluke, please let the fluke continue because we definitely prefer that the bulk of the food our cats eat be a high quality protein food with the first few listed ingredients being meat or meat derivatives, as opposed to kibble - no matter how high quality the kibble. If the food continues to be the same and our cats as avid eaters of it, we'll end up spending more by switching over to providing them more canned food and less kibble, (we have kibble to provide a change for them and because some of our cats have a slight preference for kibble) but it's worth it to us. … more

They are eating it, but not with gusto!

    By on top250Contributor

I bought a couple of cans of this pork flavor at a local retailer to try it on the cats. Of course, they gobbled it down like it was their all-time favorite. So, I ordered a case from Chewy.com. Of course, as with all such efforts I make for cats, it was not appreciated, and now they kind of only grudgingly eat it. I have found that if I mix a little warm water in and smoosh it up some, they eat it better. It tends to be a bit dry.
