    Pets love it

By Margo on Jul 15, 2021

Our pets love the flavor plus, it has enough veggies to make it a healthier canned dog food. Our dogs just eat up every day.

    Not a typical stew

    By Gia98 on Apr 12, 2019

This is finely shredded turkey in a heavy gravy. Any other ingredients are invisible. It is unappealing to look at as well as the smell. Needless to say my dog doesn’t like it. A huge waste of money, being that this is an expensive dog food!

    The cats love it!

    By on

I bought this the first time because it was on sale and the ingredients looked good. Feeding 6 cats we try to look for deals, and usually dog food comes in bigger cans for slightly less money. Surprisingly they all loved it, and the big cans are the perfect size for them, and a bit cheaper than the smaller cans. Will definitely buy again

    Good Stuff

    By on

Three years ago, our six year old English Springer developed Bilious Vomiting Syndrome. He started throwing up a clear bile almost every morning before getting out of bed. We took him to our vet who ran several tests and sent samples to Texas Tech for more detailed testing. Our vet put him on a specialized dog food to resolve the problem. it did not. Symptons got worse. Our vet wanted to perform internal surgery to " see what he could find". We did not agree. Finally, I called our trainer and asked her if she had any ideas. She asked one of her trainer friends who recommended the Lotus chicken dry and canned foods. We have had no issues since we started feeding the Lotus foods.

    My fur babies love it

My senior border collie loved it. And my 11/2 year old husky is a very fussy and picky eater. She devoured it.

    animal lover

My puppy loves this food. You can see the chunks of turkey and whole blueberries and chopped carrots in every can. It's not super thick like people have mentioned because it doesn't contain thickeners like carrageenan or guar gum. It's definitely pricey but I believe it's worth it.

Great for mixing with dry food

    By on

My dog wouldn't eat his dry food without wet being mixed in. He has cancer so we have him on a strict diet of very healthy, grain free food. The consistincy is perfect for mixing with dry food. Yes, it is like a stew (as it is called in the name) so it mixes much easier than regular wet food that has the consistency of compacted mush. Its not as "meaty" as you would think it would be for the price but it has really great ingredients and helps me be able to mix easier than regular wet food. I have purchased the turkey, chicken and beef and i prefer the chicken and turkey as they are more stew like than the beef. Also you know they love it when i am eating human food and when that can comes out My dog wouldn't eat his dry food without wet being mixed in. First Try a Success

I recently switched the dogs off dry kibble altogether. This Lotus Turkey Stew Flavor was our first purchase of both the Lotus Brand and the Stew line. My dogs LOVED it, without condition or qualification! Even my picky girl runs to the kitchen for mealtime; before, she had to be called. I did not think it was watery, as one reviewer did. It is thick like a stew, but without being gelatinous. I think that the moisture is good for the dogs' digestion, nutrition and coats. There are pieces of carrot, which look as if they came from something whole and out of the ground, rather than slices of processed roll as in some human soups or canned foods. You can also see whole blueberries and shredded turkey. I chose Lotus and the Stew line, because it is grain free, uses real turkey breast and not processed meat roll, uses #California# local products, and is made "fresh" in the USA in small batches. Nutritional analysis shows Protein at 10%, Fat at 4%, and Moisture at 80%. There are also Omega 3 and 6 Fatty Acids #0.2% and 0.5%, respectively#. On a calorie weighted basis, fat shows up at a slightly smaller percentage #40%# than protein #42%#, and carbohydrates #18%# are less than 20%. The fat and carbohydrate content are significantly lower for a canned dog food, while the protein content remains high. Also this food does not use carrageenan, guar gum or xanthan gum for thickening. All in all, all 3 of us are very pleased with this choice and we cannot wait to try Lotus' other flavors! Thank you, Lotus, and thank YOU, Chewy! … more

    Not Worth the Money Unfortunately

    By on

While I like this product for the ingredients that it comprises of, I am very disappointed in the finished product. It is not "Stew". It is watery soup with some strands and pieces of turkey floating in it. Not worth over $3.00 a can. My dog does like the taste and is happy to eat it but even with just a 30lb dog, I would have to give her 3 or 4 cans at a time to fill her up and I would have to strain the liquid out of most of it otherwise she would basically be drinking her dinner. I have found the beef shank stew to also be very soupy but not quite as much as the turkey stew. If the company would make it more stew like and add more solid ingredients (i.e. meat, veg), I would consider buying While I like this product for the ingredients that it comprises of, I am very disappointed in the finished product.
