Can the door openings be reversed?
Answer by MaliMamaApr 22, 2021
The easy answer is No. It is feasible to remove the single door from the end, flip it to reattach for the opposite swing. But... There will be no latch receiver to lock the door into. A makeshift latching mechanism would be required. With the Slider door there is no need to reverse anything as the two doors slide open to the sides within a sturdy track.

Which direction does the side door slide to (large kennel ) up and down ? Right or left or is it divided and goes two ways ? Can't see in the pictures
Answer by ChewyOct 16, 2020
The long door splits open and tucks into both sides.

what are the inside dimensions of the 42' large?
Answer by ChewyNov 04, 2020
This crate is 42 inches long, 28 inches wide and 31 inches high. It is recommended to add 4 inches to determine maximum measurements. Remember, your dog should be able to stand up and turn around while in their crate.

Side sliding door awesome!

This crate is very well designed, and the sliding side door is so much easier to deal with. It is sturdy, and well made. The only issue is my fault - I ordered way too big of a size! Our pup is already 80 pounds at 7 months, but this crate is still too big for her, and for our kitchen. I am going to order a smaller size, and give this one to my son to use on his back porch. I still gave this 5 stars because it is really nice, and the problem was my fault.

Save Your Shins (dog parents) With This Crate

We love this “safe space” crate for our Schnauzer Daisy. We recently downsized for her single life and took this sliding door sided crate with no swinging door to trip us and confuse her.The short end does have the swing door so lots of options when traveling too. Five Bones to Chewy!!

Not a strong metal

I love the sliding doors... Thats about it. They are nice and heavy. The rest of the crate is not strong at all. My puppy is a year old and 30 lbs. She chews on the bars and completely bent the bars and broke one within a week of having it. Can't hardly open it or close it any more. Such a shame.

Not heavy duty

Not suitable for a Rottweiler. Busted out first day. We reinforced with zip ties. Then she just bit through the wires n made a hole to escape through. Should not be advertised as heavy duty. Waste of money.

Tray of crate cracked in 7 months from a puppy

Received crate in Dec 2021, German shepherd puppy was only 3 months old, she is now 10 months and weighs ONLY 58 lbs and last month noticed tray of crate is cracking where pan rests on crate supports on the underside of the crate wire. This is a crate that is 42 in long so it should be made to withstand heavier breeds. This is unacceptable

Huge crate

This crate is huge and well made. Mr Jones loves his new big boy bed. Chewy had the best price and the sliding doors make all the difference have not hit my shins... that was getting old with his puppy crate.

Great crate

I have a boxer who needs to be crated when alone and a home already full of people and their stuff. The two things seemed incompatible. Most crates with doors that swing out take up so much space - the crate footprint plus the space for the door to swing out. The flush doors of this crate are such space savers! The crate is also very sturdy. It keeps the dog safe and secure. We are really happy with it.

Good Price for a Large Crate

This crate was easy to assemble and is sturdy; we found no manufacturing problems. Carrying handle and two access doors beneficial. There is sufficient room for our soon to be 65 pound dog to grow (there is lots of headroom which is deceptive in the advertisement photos which look like there is not much headroom) and a divider panel if your dog is small when you start crating. Footprint of this crate is very large so recommend measuring carefully prior to purchase.

no complaints, love it !!!!

This crate is great! Just what I needed for my 50lb pitbull mix. It’s big nice and roomy so she can move around freely. I love that the doors slide open so they don’t take up unnecessary space or get in the way. Overall, great purchase! Sturdy and reliable so far.

Not for strong dogs

I was excited to get this to use for our new puppy for her nighttime crating. I liked the idea of the sliding side door access so the door wouldn't be sticking out in the way. This crate is VERY flimsy. A determined dog could possibly escape. The connecting wires were bent upon arrival. I had to rebend them in order for the door to be attached to the sides. The idea was good but for a large dog, I'm not sure if it will hold. I will keep it to use as a feeding crate and purchase a different one for sleeping. I've purchased several Midwest crates over the years and they are MUCH sturdier!
