Transition Instructions

The key to switching foods is to do it gradually, so your dog's digestive system can adapt to our formula and nutrients. Start by replacing 20-25% of the current food you are feeding with Lucy Pet Formulas for Life. Each day, gradually increase the amount of new food and decrease the amount of the former food until your pet is eating only the new diet.

If your pet tends to have a sensitive stomach, allow up to 10-14 days to fully transition to Lucy Pet's Formulas for Life.

In some instances, a pet can experience soft stools during the first week when you switch and transition to any new food. Lucy Pet Formulas for Life, digest easily and most pets transition smoothly. However, if your pet's stool becomes loose, it may be necessary to transition more gradually to the new diet.

Be sure to temporarily eliminate any treats or wet food for the first few days, and follow feeding guidelines closely. Lucy Pet diets may require different feeding quantities than the food you were previously feeding.

    Good for picky eaters

By Keylime on Aug 7, 2020

I have a very picky eater who normally would graze, passing by periodally to grab some kernels & then off again. Tried many brands. She wouldn't eat & would have digestion issues & trouble pooping. Since being on this the past 2 months she scarfs her food, loves it, & has many poops a day. Almost too many, lol.

    Good LID Diet

    By Thea on Mar 29, 2020 top1000Contributor

I was looking for a new kibble to add to our rotation for my dog with a sensitive stomach. She tends to have loose stools and regurgitate her food, so I avoid peas, legumes, beans, grains, chicken, quail and she does much better. I stick to Fish, duck, lamb, venison, potato and pumpkin which work best for her. The dry kibble brands we love and use are expensive so I was looking for a cheaper diet; just in case. My dog does fine on this. Very little gastrointestinal upset. There was gas for a day or two and she regurgitated once. It’s only been about 2 weeks. It has a lot of potato, lower in protein content, but having duck as an option is a plus. It will be a part of our rotation, as needed.
