    Works for me!

By Trixie on Jan 7, 2021

I was hesitant about the purchase since I had read mixed reviews, but the little heater has worked great for my 1-gal. glass bowl. It keeps the water at a perfect 78 degrees. The only time the water got too warm was when I had a hard plastic covering over the top of the bowl. I removed it and everything was fine!

Worked marginally then overheated and killed our fish

By Fish on Dec 31, 2020

We had this heater for about a week. This heater worked marginally to keep our 1.5 gal tank at 76 degrees. Last night it overheated and we woke up to a dead fish and hot water. Kids are really sad!

Does it's job, but requires attention.. (no thermostat inside)

By Mike on Oct 5, 2020

I bought this particular heater with the expectation that it would have regulated itself to a temperature. I thought I had read that it would take a 1 gallon aquarium to roughly 78*F, but I must have misread that or just imagined that I saw it! It's funny that at this price point which is of course on the low-end, there doesn't seem to be a manufacturer who incorporates a thermostat function built into the heater and just sell it at whatever higher price would be necessary because people would buy it. Instead, apparently in addition to this heater you need to buy a controller that will keep an eye on the temperature and just turn this on when it falls below that threshold. For a simple betta I bought this particular heater with the expectation that it would have regulated itself to a temperature. Instead, apparently in addition to this heater you need to buy a controller that will keep an eye on the temperature and just turn this on when it falls below that threshold. For a simple betta tank it is annoying to have that much hardware, so I am personally keeping an eye on the tank temperature and for the winter will run this heater when the ambient in room is ~68*F, and in the summer/warmer days will just unplug the heater when the room gets into the mid 70s. … more

    Not what I expected

By Bella on Nov 5, 2020

This product says it will heat a small fish bowl but doesn’t met any standards. Was not able to heat a very small fish bowl for a beta fish. Had a small light on it showing it was on but never heated at all. Not worth the money I spent . Useless and had to buy something else.

    Great for small aquariums.

By RebeccaA on Oct 22, 2020

I have a 2 gal. aquarium for my beta that has live plants. This heater is excellent. Other heaters were hard to regulate and kept spiking temp. This maintains the perfect temp consistently. Love it and so does my fish.

    Betta Heaters

By BriM on Feb 2, 2020

Bought these on a whim and very pleased with them. I have temporary small tanks set up for quarantine of a few new betta and they maintain the temperature during the winter very well. Both tanks have thermometers to keep a check on temp. The only negative thing about these is that there is no set temp on them. Thou there is a red light to know that it is on.

I put this heater in my betta’s .5 gallon tank (it was at 78°). I woke up the next morning and the temperature was at 60°.
