My thermometer is working great so far. I like how small it is, so it's not crowding up my tank; it stays straight afloat, and the numbers are easy to read. The suction cup is strong enough and attaches well to the wall of my aquarium. My favorite feature is the green safety zone indicator, which gives you an idea of the proper water temp for freshwater fish! I am glad I got this thermometer, although I've only been using it for just a week now, we'll see how well it holds up in the long run.
*Bottom line, go ahead, don't hesitate to buy this! And if my review doesn't convince you to, get it just because Chewy has THE BEST customer service ever!!!
They leave a mark on the glass or plastic

These make a mark on the glass, acrylic, or plastic tanks. If u don't use the suction cup and just leave the thermometer floating, it will be just fine. Otherwise, i love chewy and the company is great!

Mine has not broken yet, and so far it seems to keep an accurate reading of the temperature of the tank. So why 2 stars? The suction cup has a very strong, chemical, smell. As soon as I the chemical smell hit me. I rinsed it in water a couple times and it still reeked, I wiped it down with vinegar and still it had that strong chemical smell. As a last attempt I tried letting it air out for a week, no luck, it still reeks. There's no way I'm putting something that smells that bad into my tank so I'm using the thermometer minus the suction cup, that means that it bobs merrily around in my tank and I have to fish it out to read it. Not very convenient when I just want to quickly check theMine has not broken yet, and so far it seems to keep an accurate reading of the temperature of the tank. So why 2 stars? glass broken but packaging looks unharmed?

Received the product with the glass broken? Package arrived fast and the box had not one sign of damage. I opened the box to find my thermometers little black beads all over inside the packaging. No damage to the packaging but the bottom of the thermometer tip cracked out!! :0(
the product is ok

the thermometer its self works good but the suction cup on the back sucks. it did not work at all. I would only recommend this if you don't mind it breaking. it is really cheap so I guess it did well for the price. overall I think maybe you should spend a few more $$ for something better.
Great thermometer for the price

Have these on all my tanks, and they are all accurate as I've switched them just to see how they read in the different set ups and they read the same as the one I took out.
Its cheap, fragile, and hard to read

Lucky to get a 3 star. After a week of waiting I got a good sized thermometer with a good suction cup and with TINY numbers. I used the thermometer to gently mix some water conditioner around my Betta, Opals, temporary bowl and it almost instantly cracked, with around 40 tiny black beads spilling all in the water. Moral of the story: you get what you pay for, and what you pay for gets you something fragile and cheap.
Broken upon opening

I got this and there was a small hole at the very bottom of the thermometer, it looked like a pinpoint hole so I thought maybe it just looked that way from the bending of the glass. I went to rinse it off before putting it in the tank and as soon as the water touched it it shattered. Not very good quality, the glass is much too fragile.

I use this in 2 of my tanks that are 3 gallons each. I'm happy with the performance and price along with the quality.
this thermometer has shattered on me two times.....do not recommend

I have ordered this thermometer on two separate occasions. Each one has shattered on me while cleaning my fish tanks.
