Before I received this Magniflow 360 Canister Filter I watched YouTube video's on how to install. Of course my aquarium is not like the ones that I watch, but I went by size of Filter. Yes that is correct, get yourself 2 metal hose clamps, hardware store. I took everything out of the box and then I opened up the canister itself. Wow, I made sure that when I put it back in after washing it all I made sure it all went back in correctly. Marineland does give you instructions, but I know some do not read them, do yourself a favor and read. After I washed and put the "baskets" all back in correct order, I went onto the next step. Now on one of the youtube video's I saw that the man added the water to the canister before he put it together. Good idea. Do it. The priming is a killer. Also one thing that I didn't do was take heed to measure the hoses to your tank. You do not want a lot of slack. I cut off 10 in. on both hoses. If you don't then you will be in the place where I was for 2 hours of grief. I was about ready to call it quits and put back my other filter. Glad I didn't, I re-read the instructions for the 10th time and finally the light went off in my head to cut those hoses. It worked. I primed it for about 50 pushes instead of 1000 (I kid you not). I turned it on, no rattling, no loud sounds that would scare you into thinking you killed the Canister, water was flowing in and out and it was so quite!!! I have to look at the water coming out to make sure it is working. Anyway, if you decide to invest in this filter, follow those instructions. Your fish will love you for it. PS....I have a 49 gal corner Saltwater Tank and 3 very long Engineer Gobies whom I call my Choo Choo's. … more

I purchased this product a couple of weeks ago for my new 75 gallon aquarium. It was delivered pretty quickly. Everything I purchased this product a couple of weeks ago for my new 75 gallon aquarium. It was delivered pretty quickly. Set up wasn’t too difficult, the hoses were a bit stiff so attaching them to the plastic inlet and outlet pieces were a challenge. I setup my tank, prime the filter and plugged it in. Everything ran fine with no leaks. The water was a bit murky because this was an initial setup. One thing I noticed was how loud this unit was. I had it set up in a closed space under the aquarium and I can still hear it. It was a tapping sound as if the impeller wasn’t seated properly. I checked that and shook the canister a bit to make sure all the air was out it. Sure enough air bubbles shot out the outlet but the noise continued. I left it alone for a couple of days so it can clear things up but it barely did that. I let it run for a couple more days but the water clarity didn’t really improve. So I got fed up and created my own filter out of a medium sized wide mouth mason jar and a an old power head I had sitting around and it cleared the water up in less than 24 hours. I was completely shocked. I’m returning this product. … more

Water disaster
By CMHR on Oct 14, 2020
Installed the new canister and the water soon after started to leak damage ding the wood floors. Marine land doesn’t seem to be helpful in this case. Have called multiple times with no response.

Marineland

I bought the marineland 360 for my 30 gal tank about 11 months ago. At first I thought is was an overkill with the flow but it wasn't. I had a little trouble with microbubbles in the beginning but with a little investigation I decided to replace the plastic claps for metal ones and with patience on the break in period of the canister I got rid of the microbubbles. Get more mechanical and bio media, compress it in the trays so it wont be lose making rattling noise my is very silence. I change the return nozzle for a Hydor FLO Rotating Water Deflector it awesome I recommend getting one. Great filter I'll recommend.
