Marineland Multi-Stage Canister Filter is designed with an effective 3-stage filtration system consisting of biological, chemical and mechanical filtration. The bio-filter balls are designed to grow the beneficial bacteria that are needed for biological filtration, and excel at removing toxic ammonia and nitrites. Unlike other canister filters, Marineland Multi-Stage Canister Filter has no bypass option, meaning that it only has the ability to produce clean water. The replaceable media slots provide the mechanical and chemical filtration, screening out dirt and debris while removing odors, discoloration and impurities. The 100% water-to-media contact ensures a crystal clear, healthy environment for your plants and marine life. This 3-stage, clean water-producing system will guarantee that your aquatic environment thrives to its highest ability.

Key Benefits
  • Allows the water to receive full-contact filtration with virtually no bypass so it can return to your aquarium as good as new.

  • Durable, effective and long-lasting filter makes keeping an aquarium easier.
  • Provides fish, plants and coral with the clear, clean and safe water they need.

    Look for something better.

Bought this a few months ago. First month worked excellent. On my second cleaning it was a little tough to open for filter cleaning/carbon change. One of the handles snapped off. It still sealed fine and was not leaking so I continued to use it. Next cleaning the other handle snapped off. It still seals, but is now even harder to open. This is the second Marineland canister filter I have owned and they always seem to work good in the beginning, but loose power and cleaning ability even with regular cleanings and maintenance.

Leaks! Tried everything I read to troubleshoot.

Nothing I could do would stop this from leaking. Returned after 1 week. It's unfortunate. It seems like ok quality but didn't work for me.

My fish has not broken it yet....

My huge Oscar was breaking his filters, he is extremely messy and this filter has solved both problems. I had a little trouble getting it put together but it wasn’t terrible. My other concern was leaks and so far so good!

After a few weeks of use this filter is a very bad investment. It's hard to change the media, is very hard to open, and is very cheaply made. After a few weeks the locking mechanism that is made of cheap plastic broke and now it leaks water and I can't no longer use it. This filter has given me such a hard time that I will never buy this brand again. $250.00 down the drain.

    Extremely easy to install

    By on

Received my package in good condition opened box and had the thing set up and running in about 20 minutes. It is really easy to set up and it works great. Saw a change in the clearness of my water even though my last pump kept it nice and clean already. Only thing I don’t like is the elimination of a quick release for the tubing. The previous versions of marineland pumps had quick release valves (only problem was that they were made of plastic and broke easy and were expensive to replace) that made removing for cleaning easy. Will have to see how long it takes to remove for cleaning when it is time
