Questions & Answers

where does the filter pump go?
Answer by AndreaGJan 15, 2023
This product features a hidden pump and filtration system located in the back.

is this aquarium good for betta fish?
Answer by ChewyMar 31, 2020
This 5 gallon aquarium would be appropriate for a wide variety of fish including Betta Fish, Honey Gourami, various Micro Rasboras, Dwarf Puffer, Dwarf Frog, Clown Killifish, Least Killifish, Dwarf Crayfish, Rosy Loach, Cherry Red Shrimp and Ghost Shrimp.

can a hamster use it
Answer by ChewyMay 23, 2020
This aquarium kit is not designed for hamsters.

Could a small aquatic turtle use this?
Answer by ChewyAug 19, 2020
Turtles need a minimum of 10 gallons of water per inch of shell diameter so even a hatchling turtle the size of a fifty cent piece requires a minimum of 20 gallons. This kit is too small and will not allow a basking light or UVB light, both of which they need.

Beautiful Tank

This tank is absolutely beautiful. We just put our betta (Quinoa) in yesterday & he loves it! The setup was super easy and the bubbles went away within 24ish hours, the water is perfectly clear. So silent, but my only concern is that even on the lowest setting the water flow is a little strong but nothing that I think will hurt the little guy, and the plastic top that covers the filter area just doesnt fit tight enough to the back like the light does. Very aesthetically pleasing tank overall, will be getting a shrimp and mystery snail sometime soon!

OK but arrived scratched

So I do like this tank, but my one issue is the tank arrived with some surface scratches on the interior of the tank. I couldn’t really returned it because I had a fish coming the following day so I had to get it set up ASAP. The tank doesn’t leak or anything, since it was just superficial scratches, so just more annoying than anything else. Otherwise tank is good.

Good for a betta

Seamless vertical design and includes filtration system. Does not include heater. I like how the filter system is hidden and the background is black. The filtration system takes up approximately 1.5 gallons of the tank tho. So the fishies only really have about 3 gallons. Good for a betta tho!!

I love it!

Beautiful profile and you can see in from all angles. My fish really enjoys the greenery I added as resting spots for him. Pump works great and I love the sliding top so that it is safe from my cats when closed but I can easily access for feeding.

Real nice

What's not to like. Beautiful tank, well built, and not cheap, except the price Chewy gets for it. My Beta is one happy little fish.

broke, flooded my counter

After only a month and a half of use, I came down stairs to a cracked aquarium and water all over my counter. See pics. We have no kids or anything that could have hit this and cracked it.

pieces don’t fit

Has to be my worst chewy purchase ever. Not worth the money you’re investing. My fish got sick from the nats getting inside due to the pieces not fitting correctly.

We have 3!

We love this tank. We bought the first one for our Beta fish, and fell in love with it so we bought 2 more tanks for our fish. We have live plants in all 3 that can grow tall and flourish. Snails in all 3 tanks help keep the tanks clean. Love the water flow setting, because you can set the flow depending on the fish you have. I would highly recommend this tank. Also, we always order things like this from chewy because the customer support is amazing!

My Betta loves this new Aquarium

We felt our betta fish “Velvet” was bored of his 1.5 tank as he has been not as active and researched some bigger tanks that could fit on a small surface. We ordered this from Chewy and although he dealt with initial shock of being placed in the new tank, once he overcame that he seems so happy. He swims a lot and loves to star at his reflection at the back part of the tank. But he is very much active and even starting to eat better again. Regarding the tank itself, it’s easy to setup but a little on the heavier side to manage and clean due to the weight of the glass. But I surely prefer the glass over plastic.
