Feeding Instructions

Ferrets of all ages should have food and fresh water available at all times.

Young Ferrets (6 - 11 weeks old): It is important at this age to sufficiently moisten the diet for your young ferret. Mix 3 parts warm fresh water to 1 part Marshall Diet (3:1 ration). Allow the mixture to sit for 3 - 5 minutes. Add more Marshall Diet or water until it reaches a wet oatmeal consistency. Keep some dry diet available at this age so your ferret will adjust to a completely dry diet by the time it is 12 - 13 weeks of age.

Adolescent and Adult ferrets (12 weeks and older): By now, your ferret should have converted to the dry diet. Keep fresh water and Marshal Diet available at all times.

    Felix approved!

My little guy Felix loves this food and it’s really expensive at our local pet store so it’s awesome to be able to get it quickly and cheap and Felix has no complaints either! I tried the Kaytee food that came with our cage set when we bought it he didn’t care for it to much but he still ate it it just took a little longer to get him through the bag. as far as treats go he loves the Marshalls soft chewy chicken flavored treats ! Loves them! I’m sure there are healthier foods on the market but my vet has no issues with it or his health he’s a healthy happy ferret ! But my little guy is not all to picky when it comes to just about any food or drink I usually am having to watch for things he can My little guy Felix loves this food and it’s really expensive at our local pet store so it’s awesome to be able to get it quickly and cheap and Felix has no complaints either! NOT GOOD FOR FERRETS

    By on

I used this when I first got my ferrets and my vet pleaded with me to change their diet to a better ferret food and a cat food to mix together and my ferrets are now very healthy, smell less, and have nice coats. I would 100% recommend to stop using marshal ferret food.

GREAT Our Carpet Sharks love it !

    By on

We have tried other ferret foods , and Cat foods but the company go's under , or they stop making that flavor etc We even tried Wysong witch gave them Green runny Diarrhea and almost killed them , plus gave us a $400.00 each Vet bill to keep them alive . So we figure the Breeder of Ferrets use this and all the pet stores use this why take a chance on killing them because someone ON line says so ???

My ferret went right for the food without any complaints. She hates the Marshall ferret treats so I'm always concerned about foods for her. She's picky.

    Ordered by Mistake

    By on

I was comparing prices between a couple websites, so I was a bit distracted when I ordered this. I was looking for Marshall's Carnivore Plus because that's what my Furo has been on thus far. It's a little more pricey than the complete nutrition, but it is totally worth it. This food is mostly filler and you can tell especially when it needs to be ground up for the young ones. You can see when you look through the ingredients, my husband even commented on how it smelled like mashed potatoes. You can see small bits of some sort of grain. The Carnivore Plus also has some vegetable product in it, but not as much. I am in the process of weening my little one of off soft and onto straight 'kibble'. He won't go anywhere near the hard pieces. he does eat it if it's warmed and mashed though. You can tell the difference in quality by just looking at the two next to each other. This kind is lighter, almost airy compared to the carnivore plus. it is a marshalls food either way, so they will get the nutrients they need, but I need to feed him more of this because it just isn't satisfying him, it doesn't keep him full for long. I will probably start mixing in Duk Soup with it until it's gone. I will not make the mistake of ordering this again. Ferret food is a pretty controversial topic and people tend to be very opinionated about which brand or type is acceptable, so just do your research and remember that Ferrets are carnivores through and through. … more

Ive owned ferrets for about 7 years now and they are the best little noodles. I have always used Marshall Premium Ferret Food as my choice of nutrition. My ferrets always loved it and they do very well on it! I have four ferrets right now and boy do they love to eat! I go through a 65 pound bag every 4 months!
