My Newfoundland's groomer recommended the this brush in Extra Firm, but she also said to make sure that the pins were bent on the end as it would help "grab" his undercoat. I can't tell from the picture or the description if the pins are straight or bent. Does anyone know for sure?
Answer by ChewyNov 01, 2017
This brush is two-sided. One side uses straight pins, while the other features bent pins.

Also, what level of firmness is suitable for a cat?
Answer by ChewyJan 25, 2021
The firmness suitable for your cat will depend on their hair type and the usage. Soft brushes are ideal for lighter jobs or daily brushes, Hard brushes are ideal for coarse coats or mild mats and Firm brushes are ideal for larger areas with tough matting.

Is this brush suitable for cats? Either long-haired or short-haired?
Answer by ChewyJan 25, 2021
This Slicker Brush is suitable for cats and dogs of all coat types.

I have an American Cocker Spaniel who is matted. Groomer recommended this brush. Can you advise to get soft, hard or firm?
Answer by ChewyMay 12, 2018
For matted pets, we recommend the Extra Firm option.

came apart

It seemed like it would be ok. I don’t know if it’s exactly “soft” because my dog seemed to be a little more bothered when I brushed him. My main problem is the brush head came apart from the handle

Great brush!

Very nice brush but not for my little 7 and a half pound multipoo! It would be great for a bit larger dog!

Not quite what I was hoping for!

I should have stayed with the tried and true. The tines on this brush are a little too fine for what I wanted although it is well made!

Great For Goldendoodles

I have a labradoodle and she got matted a lot I bought this brush and I started brushing her every other day. My groomer told me what a difference no more matting.

Grooming Tool

This grooming tool works pretty good I think. Helps get through my Golden Doodle’s curly hair.

Great brush for long coated dogs

Since this brush is flexible it does a better job getting out tangles without pulling your dog’s hair out.
