Is this tool suitable for use on a small long-haired cat with mats on the inside of her back legs?

This Ergonomic Pet Dematting Tool is great for your long-haired furry friend who is prone to knots and tangles.
Why would someone be choose a 6 blade vs a 9 blade or visa versa? My pup is a 30lb mini labradoodle - his tail is always getting matted.

The only difference other than the number of blades would be with width of the blades. The more blades there are, the wider the de-matting tool would be.

Great Tool

My little bun is ten years old now and it is harder for him to reach some areas to groom. His fuzzy butt has thick fur that tends to mat. This tool works very well with its smaller rake to get into tighter areas. The handle is very comfortable and easy to grip.

The best ever!

My girl cat doesn't groom at all. We have spent years having her shaved to prevent matting. This comb....amazing! It looks like it won't work but it did. I'm doing a little at a time but she doesn't seem to be uncomfortable. She tolerates it for 10 or so minutes at a time. The blades aren't sharp enough to cut her skin but they definitely work through the mats so that she doesn't have bald spots everywhere. Soooo happy to have found this!

ZERO Stars, if possible!

Don't waste your money. It is expensive junk. First off, I thought 6 blades meant it had actual BLADES. It's just a tiny "rake" to remove undercoats. Ok, whatever, my mistake. I tried to use it regardless and the metal "blades" -LOL- started snapping off!

Not what I expected

The item wasn't what I expected. Our cat's fur is matted and when I read 'blades', I thought it would cut the fur. Like I could keep working on the same spot until the matted fur was gone.

Excellent!

My old, pudgy kitty isn’t awesome at grooming and developed TERRIBLE mats. I have brushed her relentlessly, bathed her (talk about a nightmare) and cut her coat to try to get rid of it. She only tolerates about 15 minutes until I give her a break. Today I received this departing tool in the mail and in 10 minutes, most of her mats are out! She’s pretty ticked but I only got bit once! I was afraid I’d have to take her in to be sedated and shaved. Bravo!
