I had purchased one of these to see how the crew we take to it WOW!! They loved it climbing up on it, using it playing with the toys and the toys stayed attached. I have had the first one for almost two years and it still standing toy intact. The base is wide enough to keep the post upright when kitty is using it. There's not much worse then kitty being scared by the post flipping over on them. My largest cat the 16 pound tripod uses this and he's a bit skittish. My small playful kitty uses it she's a handful 6 years old but thinks she's still a kitten LoL. I spray a little liquid catnip spray on it when it first arrives. I am not a fan of the dry stuff to messy. Great post, neutral for your I had purchased one of these to see how the crew we take to it WOW!! We have a huge 5'+ cat tree that our 17 lb cat loves to sleep on, but we wanted a smaller more movable post to put in other rooms. She took to it immediately. We also just adopted a tiny little kitten, she loves to climb up in and attack the birds.
I understand what other posters have commented on with the base, it folds in half and seems cheaper than more expensive big trees, but my 17lb chonker hasn't destroyed it after running and throwing her body at it... yet.
Timeline: Have had the tree for a month, cat uses it daily.
Fell over only time she used it

She likes scratching fully stretched out so I was so glad to finally find a post taller than 21 inches. It took weeks for her to even try to scratch it (she’s apathetic to catnip & all catnip alternatives & cat toys, including the ones attached to this scratching post). When she finally did decide to try scratching it, it fell over on top of her. She wasn’t even being crazy or trying to climb it, just trying to scratch on the top half of the post. Months later now & she’s never tried to use it again. Base is about 1/2 inch thick so I haven’t been able to add weights to it, but even if I could, I don’t think she’d try scratching it ever again. Now it just sits unused in the living room.

I have four cats and every single one of them can't resist a scratch as they walk past. The rope has become frayed cuz they use it so much. Spray this with catnip and they go crazy. They even play with the bird on the string and the one on the spring. Great scratching post for $25! Bonus cuz it's not beige.
Trusty & long-lasting scratcher

We love this. We have two very smart and very scratch-aggressive Egyptian Maus; we've had them since they were kittens and they're over a year old now.... and we've had this scratcher for them since day one. They love it, they play with the little birdies and the post has held up to their intense claws.
Good Post BUT...

The scratching post is GREAT, BUT..
the dangling (bird?) Is on such a flimsy elastic band, that it took only 5 minutes and it broke off of the post completely.
Now my kitty has a SEPARATED bird-like toy and I needed to attach other dangly toys to play with.
How can you charge $25+ for a post that falls apart in 5 minutes?

Finally I can have a cat toy that isn't crazy colors and can blend with my decor. My cat took right to it (I did spray a little liquid catnip on it). She definitely prefers scratching the post over my couch!

This is fantastic! We have 5 siblings ranging from a big tux at 16 lbs to his little sister at almost 8 lbs, and they all love this post. Tall enough for the big boy and still perfect for the little girl. And unlike every other post we have tried, they haven't tipped it over once! Thanks to the makers of this post for adding a wide enough base to make it stable. BEST. POST. EVER.

This is awesome. My cats play and scratch on this several times a day. The mouse hanging from the top part is sturdy and they haven’t broke the elastic string which is unbelievable to me. My biggest roughest cat with claws can’t break it. Yippee!
Small and fun

We have a few taller scratchers already but our younger cat has been getting the door trim so we purchased this one. Both cats live it and use it several times per day.
