Questions & Answers

Can I feed this to my adult leopard gecko?
Answer by ChewyMar 28, 2020
This diet is best for insectivorous reptiles such as anoles, basilisks, bearded dragons, chameleons, geckos and water dragons.

Would thing be okay for a baby bearded dragon?
Answer by ChewyJan 23, 2021
This food can be used by juvenile and adult Bearded Dragons.

So this can be fed to a bearded dragon alone with no other food or insects required or would I still need to supplement it with gut loaded insects?
Answer by ChewySep 08, 2021
This recipe should make up at least 50% of your reptiles intake. Supplemental food items like insects, produce, and meat should be provided to your reptile.

Also would I still have to feed my bearded dragon salads and veggies with this ?
Answer by ChewySep 08, 2021
It is recommended to feed to insectivores at a rate of at least 50% of reptiles' intake. Feed intake will vary based on animal body size and lifestage, level of activity and environmental temperature. For the other half of their diet, produce should consist primarily of leafy greens, with limited fruit and high sugar vegetables to minimize sugar consumption which can cause gastrointestinal tract disturbances. Any live insects fed to the reptiles should be appropriately supplemented to balance the nutrition they provide.

Energy boost

My bearded dragon is 7 years old, and due to being busy I haven't been able to put in much time into his diet. And I figured he was more on the lazy side due to his age. His normal diet was lettuce with fruits and vegetables from time to time with nutrient powder sprinkled on top. Of course too because he's stubborn I had to force feed him this kibble a bit because he didn't find it to look appetizing (which I hate doing :(), but the next day after he had it for the first time his energy absolutely spiked. Whenever he normally goes on the ground out of self interest, he doesn't walk around or move around a lot. The most he would do is walk a couple inches and then find a place to sleep. But this time he had a random moment where he wanted out of his cage simply because he wanted to run around. He was in a very happy mood, he ran across my room (which was a HUGE upgrade for him), anytime I put him back on my bed he immediately ran off to get back on the ground, he was absolutely enjoying himself and seeing that made me so incredibly happy. I'm still feeding him fruits and lettuce as he uses that for a source of hydration and he LOVES raspberries, but I'm honestly keeping this food in his diet as long as possible because it's amazing!
