Feeding Instructions

Feed to tortoise, along with plenty of fresh clean water. Tortoises will generally consume 1-4% of body weight per day, although food intake will vary due to environmental temperature, activity, and life stage. Provide a good quality forage such as grass or hay or browse. Fresh fruits and vegetables may be provided, but at no more than 20% of the total diet. Soaking the diet is not necessary but may help to acclimate tortoises to the diet.

Thoroughly wash feeding and watering bowls on a regular basis. It is always good practice to wash hands thoroughly after feeding and/or handling pets. This diet is not for human consumption

The photo on the website shows large, beige, rounded, finer milled pellets, however what I received looked more like bunny sized pellets, mich darker, and definitely more fibrous. I hope its the same formula as what I’ve purchased previously for my box turtles.

  • Good Product

I bought this as one of my box turtles has a deformed beak (rescue), and eating Whole Foods for him is difficult. I halfway soak this for him and pair it with dandelion greens and a berry or two. He enjoys it and my other bodies are catching on to it as well. For sure recommend for MBD boxies

My super picky tortoise loves this when put with warm water and made into a paste. This goes great as a mix with the zoo med tortoise diets

  • Need bigger bags

My tortoise has been eating this since she was a baby & loves it as long as it’s mixed with warm water. She has grown into a gorgeous 4 year old who is healthy & solid. I have a big tortoise who needs a bigger bag! This is a snack size bag for her. Please offer the big 25 + pound bags like the manufacture sells on its website. The price point make more sense for people who have to feed big reptiles or large quantities of them. Thank you I would highly recommend this to any tortoise owner.

  • Unsure, still transitioning from fresh produce

    By on

While I'm unable to rate this item objectively yet, I only feel fair to go middle ground, I have had my pair of Russian Tortoises for just about a year, during that year, I have fed them a mixture of greens, carrots and green apples, all chopped. They have become accustomed, even spoiled with this refreshing mix of fresh produce, transitioning wont be easy, I've tried mixing the pellets with their original diet, they just pick the fresh ingredients out, I have since given them a mixture with a very small portion of fresh, and about 80% pellets, as with most animals, when faced with hunger, you eat whatever is available, so they are now eating more pellets as, its their only option, While I'm unable to rate this item objectively yet, I only feel fair to go middle ground, I have had my pair of Russian Tortoises for just about a year, during that year, I have fed them a mixture of greens, carrots and green apples, all chopped. I have tried all sorts of foods over the years and I think I’ve finally got a keeper! I serve it to her moistened with fruit and veggies or just by itself and she eats it right up:)

My Tortoise loves this food. I will be ordering a large bag of it today. My dogs also like it and I checked the ingredients and there was nothing harmful to most animals.

  • Yes! Finally!

I've tried several different brands for my Sulcata but she would only eat the colorful ones. Since they just seemed like junk food I kept trying and finally found these. It only took her a couple days to get used to them and now she chooses them over her greens.
