Junk food cat reformed with this freeze dried “kibble”

By GirlinOregon on Sep 24, 2021

So we adopted a three year old neutered male Maine Coon mix. (We adopted him from a neighbor). He came to us as a junk food cat. Do you know what a junk food cat is? It’s a cat addicted to processed kibble full of fillers and carbs. I switched him to canned food but he is super picky, sometimes eating it but sometimes not so much. Knowing he likes the crunch of a kibble I decided to try freeze dried raw products. To my delight and surprise, he loves them. I have now tried four brands of freeze dried to determine which texture and size he prefers and also to change it up so he doesn’t get bored of the same thing. He is loving this Meat Mates line of food. I started with the smaller bag of chicken which he enjoyed. I’m back to buy a larger bag of chicken and I’ll try the smaller bags of lamb and beef. The ingredients are clean and amazing. The food is packed with protein and is missing everything I wanted out of my cats diet, such as fillers like tapioca (no wonder cats are getting diabetes!). Since my cat prefers food in kibble form (maybe he likes a little crunch?) this satisfies him and I’m pleased with the nutritional content. Junk food cat reformed! … more

2 out of 4 cats go nuts for it

By Kenzikins on Sep 4, 2021

I have 4 cats, 2 of which have been impossible for me finding a diet that isn’t loaded with things like tapioca or worthless fillers. Rebel and Truly love their crunchy dry carby food and I almost gave up trying to find something else. They didn’t like the Stella & Chewys (other 2 eat that enthusiastically) or anything else I tried until on a whim I gave all of them the treat version of meat mates lamb. The 2 that are used to a better diet sniffed at it and walked away but surprisingly, Rebel and Truly went nuts gobbling it up. So I decided to give this version a try, bought the small bag just in case, crossed my fingers, and gave it to Rebel and Truly. What the......

By Favorite on Aug 13, 2021

Cats did not like. What can you say. I have mixed it with things they really like but it continues to be the only thing left in their dish. Not a total loss, am pretty sure the pig will not turn up her nose and walk away from it.

    Super fragrance

By HANGI on Aug 17, 2021

The three cats in our family like this mutton taste very much. They crush it and sprinkle it on the rice every time. They love it very much.

    This stuff is fantastic

By CKronz on Apr 12, 2021

I absolutely adore this food- the pieces are the perfect size for enrichment and training, and it never causes any stomach upset, even when the dogs get into it. The $10 per bag price hike since last year is rough though.

Huge Hit for 1 out of 3 Cats

By Catzzz on Feb 26, 2021

And these days I call that a win, with one IBD cat and another with allergies to beef and rabbit. She LOVES this Lamb Dinner so if it does not give her allergy symptoms as we go, it will be a dry raw food staple. The other two cats were mildly interested, but would rather eat other foods.

    My Cat Won't Touch It

By Alan on Apr 22, 2021

My cat sniffed it once, and never went back to it :( It is far from appealing, like extruded pellets (looks like certain types of cat litter).

    Cats not thrilled

By MMFDL on Jan 29, 2021

My six cats walked away from this light weight dry food. Maybe they didn’t like the flavor of lamb, but they did eat it mixed with other dry cat good. For the price, I’ll stick with chicken and fish or beef.
