    Use this as treats!

By NicB on Nov 5, 2020

I bought this as food for my siamese kitten with food sensitivities but luckily I found another food with limited ingredients that is a bit less expensive. However, the ingredients in this are great and she does love this stuff! However, the ingredients in this are great and she does love this stuff! It's much easier to eat or deal with than most raw/dehydrated foods on the market because you don't have to rehydrate it (and I've tried many) and it also easily breaks apart which is good because she has a tiny mouth and has a hard time with some of the bigger chunks of other brands. I highly recommend it if you can afford it! I'm currently just giving it to my kittens as treats to help them get along which is working well. … more

    Cats Don't Like It

By mrsgreenjeens on Oct 16, 2020

Here's what's odd about this product: my cats currently eat Feline Natural's Freeze Dried Chicken and Lamb in their rotation, so I know they have no problem with New Zealand lamb. One of the cats loves the Meat Mates Beef (with tripe), so I know it's not the tripe that is turning him off of this food. But something in this is a "turn off" for both of my cats. I'm pretty sure it's the tripe for the one cat, since he doesn't like the Meat Mates Beef either, (he's a weird one, he won't eat rabbit either), but the other cat....he typically likes lamb, and he likes tripe, so I just don't get it. And I've tried hand feeding it to him a few times now to no avail. So, I can't recommend this one. … more

Not as popular as beef, but still enjoyed

    By on Top 500 Contributor

My cats have tried all the Meat Mates. Flavor ranking as follows: 1) Beef. Instantly Devoured. 2) Lamb. Will eat but no rush. 3) Chicken. Never finish the dish - only eating when absolutely hungry.

    Extremely tasty!

I bought several different brands/flavors of freeze dried raw food and had my cat do a taste test. This was the clear winner! I appreciate that it's available in a "novel protein," since my cat has food allergies. Directions say to feed this straight up (you might need to break some larger pieces up for smaller cats). I actually combine this with another freeze dried raw food, so I squish/crumble them up, mix the foods together, and re-hydrate (with Honest Kitchen instant goat's milk, also sold on Chewy, com). My cat is one happy feline! I docked one star because many of the vitamins and minerals are added as supplements rather than as whole foods. Quality Ingredients but Kitty said NO

    By on

I was excited to try this food. My kitty loves Feline Naturals Lamb and King Salmon so I thought he would like this food. I favor ingredients sourced in New Zealand and the reviews were very favorable. I have given this to him both reconstituted and dry four times in the last two weeks, hoping he would change his mind but he won't touch it either way.
