Meloxicam is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medication prescribed by your vet to help reduce pain, inflammation, and stiffness and increase mobility in dogs. It helps treat inflammation and may also help control pain associated with severe and chronic diseases, such as arthritis. This injectable solution should only be administered as directed by your veterinarian. Customers may receive this drug under the name Metacam.
Meloxicam is indicated to help control pain and inflammation associated with osteoarthritis in dogs.
Possible Side Effects
Typical adverse reactions to non-steroidal anti-inflammatories may include vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, decreased appetite and behavioral changes. In cases of anaphylaxis, you should consult your veterinarian immediately.
Drug & Food Interactions
Dogs with known hypersensitivity to meloxicam should not receive. Additionally, this solution should not be used in animals who are allergic to meloxicam (Metacam), carprofen (Rimadyl), aspirin, etodolac (EtoGesic), deracoxib (Deramaxx), firocoxib (Previcox), tepoxalin (Zubrin), or other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.
Not for use in animals who are allergic to meloxicam (Metacam), carprofen (Rimadyl), aspirin, etodolac (EtoGesic), deracoxib (Deramaxx), firocoxib (Previcox), tepoxalin (Zubrin), or other NSAIDs. Use with extreme caution and continued monitoring in geriatric animals and those with dehydration, diabetes mellitus, or stomach, intestinal, liver, heart, and blood disorders.
