Inconsistent
By Horchata on Mar 17, 2021
I like these leashes. This would be my 8th slip leash from Mendota. However, this will be the second to receive a malfunctioning stopper on the leash. It is just too loose and the slip is insecure. When it is made well, the stoppers work wonderfully and it’s my favorite slip to use. I will ask for a exchange for this one.

not for small dogs used to a harness
By nessysmom on Mar 2, 2021
My dog has been used to a harness and pulling for a couple years. Tried to train him not to pull and watched all the how-to videos but he just gets too excited. Since my 10 lbs dog neck is so small he was chocking and had to stop using it. Maybe if you have a more patient or bigger neck dog I would recommend but didnt work for mine.

Only brand I will buy for slip leads
By Isaac on Jan 14, 2021
I have used slip leads, from cheap to more pricey, and I have to say without a doubt our 3/8 Mendota slip is the best. I have sensory issues which makes me picky about certain textures, leashes included. The Mendota slip isn't too rough or pokey, and has a nice hand feel. On the training side of things, it is my ride or die. It is on every training session with my dog. The 3/8 inch gives a nice feed back for me and him. He is sensitive to tools such as martingales and gentle leaders but really thrives off of using the slip lead. Our leash communication has never been better. (And its very important to have!) I think my only draw back is that the leather and nylon rope does seem to become loose after awhile BUT I have not washed it. We have had our current one for 5 months. My concern is the leather will become dry and cracked even though they say its machine washable...to be completely honest, I would rather spend the money on a brand new one than risk it. In short: The Mendota 3/8 inch slip lead is the best slip leash I have used and will continue to use. Perfect for all sizes of dog and a great training tool. … more

Made all the difference
By PaulaMcCartney on Dec 26, 2020
We just adopted a rescue, and we're first timers. Our beautiful rescue was difficult to walk. In addition to not having a human accompanying her through the neighborhood, she's also got a lot of hound in her. She pulled me down three times! This leash made all the difference. With an amazing trainer, some consistency, and some patience, she's now a pleasure to walk. The leash enables me to give her leash cues. We love her, and we love the new leash.

The Perfect Leash
By TerrierMom on Feb 12, 2021 top500Contributor
Mendota slip leads are the absolute best. Super sturdy and durable, and come in so many colors. They are great training tools and also as everyday leads. Just know that the 4ft. option is really short for small dogs.

Beautiful Leads—color is closest to first photo
By Michael on Dec 24, 2020
I love these leads, extremely well made. I got confused how the colors would look in person vs online since the color wasn’t consistent across all item photos. The FIRST picture is the accurate way the color will look. The photos after are great details to how it’s made but have a filter on them

This one's a life-changer!
By IdahoLabMom on Jan 9, 2021
My 10-week-old lab refused to walk with a harness or a leash attached to his collar. I put this on him and he was instantly comfortable and happy. He gets so excited when he sees this lead because he knows we are going for a walk.

Okay slip lead
By Drax on Nov 26, 2020
I purchase this as a training tool to work on the heel command, and my pup is sensitive to the chain collars. I went with the thin option in hopes to have more control but I do not like the feel of it in my hands since it is so thin it can be hard to hold onto especially if you have an aggressive puller.

Dog leash Lead
By Cyberwolf2 on Jan 14, 2021
This is a strong light weight leash lead. However, I specifically order the 6’ , 0.5” lead leash for my Eskimo dog. What happened.? They sent a 3/8” lead.? Thanks.
