I bought this lead because I have a 7 month old lab/american shepherd that needs to run. I live in an apartment, but we have a huge back yard. I was afraid my pup might run to the neighbors (they have a shepherd mix tied out on a run) so I bought this so we could play fetch in the yard. It's an great lead with a piece of leather securing the hook. The only problem is there is no handle on the other end! I tied my own, and it still works great it just doesn't look as nice as it could.
Perfect long line training lead

I did not expect this lead to have a handle AND I did hope that it was a bit slippery so as to avoid snagging on things in the woods where I walk. I do put a knot in the end when there are deer around as I am still working on "not chasing deer". I use this several times daily on our "sniff walks"/training for off leash where I am teaching non-heal but check in and pay attention stuff, plus recall training. Perfect for that and the clasp and rope are holding up very well. I only use this with harness on my dog, NOT on a collar.
Just what I needed

This lead is perfect! I take my dog through the woods every day, and this lead has held up going through mud, snow, water, you name it! As other reviews state, there is no handle. I knotted one up using the end of the lead in about 15seconds and it wasn't a big deal. The color is great for visibility and it is durable! It's still like new after months of daily usage.

I guess I should I have checked more but it's definitely hard to see with the pictures provided.. There's no handle on this leash. It's literally just a rope so you better make sure you tie a pretty tight knot in it to avoid it slipping out of your hands when your dog pulls. Wish I would have known this prior to buying but it still works so I'll avoid the hassle of returning it and keep it.
Not as well made as I thought

When I got this and unwrapped it, I discovered there is no handle. I had to use some zip ties and created a loop to make a handle. What company would make a leash with out a way to hold on to to it? Just a regular piece of rope with a cheesy clasp on the end.

We have a condo with a backyard that is common area. This lets him run to the bush to pee and we can pull him back! It’s great for letting them run or for training.

Works great for what i bought it for. I have a 9 month puppy that isnt that great on recall yet so we go to the green belt by my house and i tie this around a tree and dont have to worry about him taking off and he still can run around and explore!
Gives your pup some freedom

Great way to let a younger pup have some freedom. The weight of this rope is just right. Easy for your dog to walk over and untangles itself without a lot of effort.
Some concerns about this product
on Oct 31, 2018
I took my dog to a park that had no enclosed fencing. I put the leash on 49 pound Max and he enjoyed the freedom of running around. A few issues with using the 50 ft rope leash. First as Max was running he became tangled in the rope under him. I was a bit concerned he may get rope burn. He adjusted himself and continued to enjoy his freedom. Another concern is the force on me as he ran. I held on to the other end having made my own loop. I was pulled very hard and jerked forward when he reached the 50 ft end. This would be better used wrapped and secured around a tree or attached to an in ground spike.
Great Solution When You Don't Have A Fence
on Sep 30, 2018
This long lead has already changed my dog's life! I don't have a fence, but this is the next best thing. My pup gets the freedom to run around and safely play in the backyard. There is no loop at the end as many have wondered but it is easy to tie around a tree and has held up great! I think the quality of the leash is excellent as well. Really happy with this purchase...And Sawyer the Springer Spaniel is too!!
