This lead unlike other long leads - it doesn't get caught up and stuck on stone, wood, and other obstacles in the field with our dog. We use it in all weather and in water and it is wearing well. The orange cord is easy to see and the leather wrap and brass clasp were nicer than I expected! A+. The end of the lead doesn't have a loop so you can make your own if you are inclined.
Fun at beach
on Jul 26, 2021
On a beach that requires dogs be leashed, this provided the opportunity to play in the water and sand while still obeying the rules. Kit is well trained to return when called, sit, lay down, etc. so I wouldn’t recommend this as an option for dogs that don’t follow commands, pull on leashes, etc for use on a beach with turtle nests. But, it would be good for training to respond in a less “interesting” environment.
It was great for her to still be able to play with her ball and frisbee while still being leashed. I tied the lead to my fanny pack, and we hit the shore with enthusiasm. I loop the excess rope for walking, and release it as she runs.
They last forever
on Sep 7, 2021
After almost 20 years, I finally replaced my first Mendota 30ft check cord. They are lightweight and very durable. It's a great lead for tracking training. I also have Mendota 6ft leads. You can machine wash them, let them hang to dry, and they look like new
Not what I expected
on Sep 3, 2021
It’s a good, sturdy leash but there is no handle (like with the 20 and 30 foot versions). Material also soaks up water so the leash becomes pretty heavy quickly - even from just the morning dew
Great leash for exercising dog
on Jun 21, 2021
This leash is not too long but not short either. I got I to let my Weimaraner run a little more and I play with her and realized it helped a lot with socializing and recalls and now she’s super calm around others. Not only that but she’s also a happy dog because she gets to run more and I get to do less work so I’m happy too. Defenitly recommend it, there is nothing wrong with this leash and I beat it and she pulls so don’t believe other reviews hahaha
Best Cord Rope Lead
on Jun 26, 2021
This rope lead is perfect. It’s is braided, and waterproof, and holds up when wet. Traditional coated wire leads seem to get stuck in the pups back foot, hence the purchase of this lead. The thickness is quite light, and the dog does not get tangled up in it.
Too Bulky for Small Dog
on May 20, 2021
I was excited to try this out with my chihuahua so she would have room to run around the park without being off leash. I can’t really use it with her because the leash is too heavy and weighs her down. Could be my mistake for not seeking out a long leash specifically for small dogs. This leash would work well for bigger dogs. Mine came in with a clasp fastener on one side only
Good rope, lacks "grip"
on Jun 7, 2021
The rope seemed to be decent quality. The bright orange color makes it easy to see. The connecting hook is on the smaller side, but it works. The biggest issue is that the end of the lead has no "handle". You have to make a loop and tie a knot to create one. This is tricky for those dogs that are pullers. It would be nice if they had a loop built into the end to hold onto.
Cord Rope Lead

Good & sturdy but not too heavy for my small dog. I would recommend this to anyone. We use it for a poodle mix and it works very well. We originally ordered a cable which was much too heavy so was able to get my money back with no problem.
Best check cord

This is the best check cord I've ever had, and I have had a lot.
