need a blanket for cat to dig in
Great product! At first my cat did not show interest in it, but then I got a small cat blanket to put into the cave and she hasn’t sleep anywhere else the last two days. I’d recommend, and perhaps your cat needs a similar setup to really thrive with this bed. My kitty is on the bigger side, so the bigger size works great.
Great little spot for kitty
My cat loves this. He not only sleeps in it, but he also drops toys in it and then "stalks" and ambushes them. It's great because he can go in there and scratch and it doesn't hurt anything. It's also a very cozy place to curl up. He weighs 10.5 pounds and we got the medium size, and it's perfect for him. The only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is that I can't get it shaped just right. I've stuffed it to try to push out the flat areas but it's still not rounded very well. (He certainly doesn't care, though!) Great purchase for a much better price than other wool caves I've seen.
A well crafted cat cave.
I could tell that this was a quality product before I even opened it by the thickness of the cord that the cat cave was wrapped in. The cave is made from thick, dense and sturdy merino wool and my cats took to it right away. One of my cats prefers to nap in it during the day and the other has chosen it to be his favorite place to sleep at night. The bonus wool ball is also a hit with them.
Cat in love w/ cave
Finicky Peanut usually takes months before she tries a new bed, but she hopped right into the cave w/in minutes! It reshaped easily out of the box and didn’t have a strong odor. The bottom is thick and cozy so it doesn’t require an insert cushion. Also, the wool is not flimsy. Peanut weighs around 10 lbs, however, I ordered the large to provide a bit more space. I chose the Aquamarine which looks more like teal. You can tell the cave is handcrafted by skilled artisans. While it costs more than other covered beds, this is a well-made, durable product that I expect will last a long time. And Peanut seems happy!
So glad I got it
I was telling my husband about this cat cave and he didn't think our cat would need it. I'm so glad I purchased it because he loves it! I wasn't sure what size to get and went with the large. My cat is 12.4 lbs so I thought better too big then too small. He has plenty of room to lay in and brings his toys in it.

This is the first 'cave' my 15 yr old (rescue) has like - when cocooning was on his schedule he preferred being under a blanket. My 2 yr old (rescue) who almost always sleeps stretched out jumped right in, so I had to order a 2nd. I recommend the larger size - I think the smaller would be confining for an average cat.
Wonderful Quality
This came right away as most things do with Chewy. It was a lot thicker than I was expecting. The tag suggested stuffing it with clothes or blankets to help bring the shape back from packaging and shipping. I used worn clothes instead of clean clothes so that it got our household scent on it and once I did that he loved it. It is definitely worth the cost.
Grey felt cat cave bed
So disappointed- got 2. Unpacked from plastic and smell was unbearable! Cute concept- only 1 of my cats went in for less than a minute- then ran out. Smells like sewage or rotten poop! Awful and wasted money. For those that like it- must not be able to smell! Sorry but honest review. Husband took to the dump.
High Quality Cat Bed
I have two cats, one of which always sleeps in my felt laundry basket. That's why I purchased this cat bed, and she loves it. She sometimes curls up on top of it and smooshes it down. And she plays with it, hiding a mouse inside it and pulling it out. A quality item, well made and arrives with a fun felt ball and string, as others have mentioned. Great purchase!
Her Little Cave
I received my Chewy box today and this delightful wool bed. It was packed very securely and included a beautiful piece of rope/string and an adorable blue wool ball. The quality is very good - a nice thick soft wool. It was folded so you do need to take a little time to shape it. My cat was hesitant at first but then I sprinkled a little catnip in there and she was sold. She’s been sleeping and relaxing in it for the last 3 hours. It’s cozy but also gives her room to position herself (she’s 10lbs). I got the large. It’s a winner!
