Great food, but not for my dogs

Being a high protein food I had high hopes. Packaging is great and food quality looked great. Other high protein foods that I have had my dogs on their poop would be solid and pretty dark. My dogs have had nothing but diarrhea on this food or really soft stools. It's been months now.

You won’t be disappointed

We have a German Shepard, mixed breed, and he LOVES this stuff! He actually eats every meal and now I don’t have to worry about making sure he take his glucosamine because his food already has it added, so he’s guaranteed to get it everyday. With is having soft kibble as well, our little chihuahua has no problem eating and she’s getting old so having all those hood vitamins and minerals for her joins is great for us! No separate dog foods anymore! We’ve been feeding them this dog food for about 11 months. We’ll never go back to other dog food, plus it supports vets to receive services dogs. OORAH!

Not for my dog

Gave my toy aussie explosive diarrhea and vomiting, he was the sickest that I have ever seen him. I was concerned that maybe had he gotten Parvo from a Kennel, we stopped feeding him anything except rice for 24 hours and his stool returned to normal.

Great taste, creative, appetizing

The freeze dried raw Merricks Banquet dry dog food is very very good. My big has tried all of the freeze dried selections and he loves all of them. Quality product, good for your pet and always welcome as a change for a bit of variance. Yes I recommend. I have purchased many Merrick products and I am never disappointed.

Dog won't touch it

My dog is very picky, a PITA in fact. I have been searching for a food she will eat. I saw this and thought I would give it a try, no luck, she won't touch it. This is beyond frustrating. The other thing I noticed is there are very few freeze dried chunks in the bag. It's mostly kibble.

Good size kibble for all size dogs

I recently switched my 1 year old English Bulldog and one of my 3 year old Saint Bernards to this food. Our EB was on Purina Pro Plan Shredded Chicken & Rice but the kibble was so gosh darn big she couldn't really chew it. One of our Saints is having digestive issues so that is why we switched her from the same Purina Pro Plan. They both love it and what is nice is the kibble size is great for both breeds. I know it is way more expensive but nowadays you get what you pay for. Buy the smaller bags to switch and the once your pup is switched spend the money on the larger bag. Stinks the biggest bag is only 20 pounds but it is what it is. Also, you get to support a great cause with this particular bag.

Not worth it

I purchased a small bag of this food because it partially raw and wanted to see if my dogs would like it and as soon as I opened the bag, I noticed there were no chunks of chicken as stated and pictured on the bag. I dumped the entire bag out and there were 3 pieces of chicken...... So I paid all that money for a partially raw dog food for 3 small chunks of chicken..... I was very displeased

Chicken free food!

Merrick makes plenty of flavors that do not include chicken meal or byproducts, including this flavor. My Boxer's sensitive tummy does really well on Merrick.

Merrick Backcountry Freeze-Dried Dog food

Thumper enjoyed it the 1st day, but started vomiting the 3rd day. I believe it was too rich for him. I was mixing it with his other food to ease the transition.
