The Glocosamine content for this formula is 1200 milligrams per kilogram. The Chondroitin Sulfate content for this formula is 1200 milligrams per kilogram. We do recommend that you consult with a veterinarian prior to combining a supplement with a diet.
What is the recommended feeding amount for a 70 lb. dog?

It can be adjusted for your specific pet when also taking into account their age, activity level, etc. If you are uncertain of the amount, you can always consult with your veterinarian.
Can you feed this to puppies? I don’t see this in a large breed puppy formula.

Kibble got smaller
I've been buying this product for over 3 years as my 6 yr old huskie mix is now turning six. The past 3 or 4 bags I've noticed the kibble has gotten significantly smaller (size of the backcountry puppy kibble) and a different (darker) color as well. This also reflects on his stool as that has also darkened. One reason i settled on this particular flavor is the kibble size. What's going on? Can we get back to the old recipe? If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

Recent Quality Issues
We have been loyal users of Backcountry Raw infused large breed for many years with both our Husky and our Bernese Mountain dog and over the past 6 months the bags have been arriving with the Raw infused pieces crushed or cut into pieces the same size as the kibble. We have received 2 of the last 3 bags like this.

Dog approved food
My Boxer/lab loves this food. Drools while we pour it into his bowl. Never skips a meal now. The freeze dried nuggets are like treats to him. Highly recommend this brand of food. And it has high protein ingredients.

GSD Mix Loves It
Tried other large breed foods but nothing worked well until we found Merrick Backcountry. Our 100+ lb. GSD Mix is thriving on this food.

The dogs say yum!
I have two large dogs, one is a foster dog and after a month of eating this food her coat is thicker, and she looks so much better. She is the first to the table to eat now!

My boy loves this food!

A honest review
I don't know how the other reviewers have their dogs eating it. My dog on the other hand, he won't even eat it nor get near it. It was a big waste of money!?!
