My breeder suggested a particular brand of puppy food for my GSD puppy, but he wouldn’t eat it. I tried a few other types and when I picked this one, it was a big hit. He loves the bits and pieces mixed in the food and eats it all or else his older sister would be finishing it for him. Even though he is a large breed, I still Ike the size of the kibble for him. It’s a win-win all the way around.
I have always bought Merrick Freeze-Dried Raw Puppy kibble from my local pet store. My pup loves it and I love it for him. He just turned 5 months yesterday. This was my first time ordering a bag from Chewy and I must say I was highly disappointed. There were NO whole pieces of the freeze-dried raw food. The entire bag looked like the bottom of the barrel crumbs. I can't even say crumbs, more like dust. This food is too expensive to not get exactly what you paid for. I won't be ordering this particular product from Chewy again.
My dog loves this puppy recipe. Although this one did not have the freeze-dried additions, just the puppy kibble. Normally she loves the added bits :)
My girls are 5 years old and have been eating this recipe since 8 weeks old. Not ever going to change. They are healthy and happy.
This food has two components; dry kibble, and freeze-dried cubes. When I purchase this in a store, the cubes are intact. When this was shipped to me, the cubes were pulverized. In future, I will purchase this myself.
then not so much. Gave her a lot of gas and she got itchy. She's a new 6-month puppy to us so perhaps she has a chicken allergy.
Excellent food not available at my local pet store. The freeze dried nuggets make it especially tempting to picky eaters.
Cassi is an Aussidoodle or full size Australian Shepard & Poodle hybrid. Cassi loves to snatch frisbees from air on land or retrieve from our nearby river. Would highly recommend Merrick brand dog foods for health, energy, and temperament. Cassi is extreme high energy puppy now just under 50 pounds she routinely runs along with my mini bike and goes on mile plus walks. This recipe keeps her growing and alert as well.
I’ve fed Merrick Backcountry Raw infused to my now adult beagle and to my new Brittany puppy. It’s a food I trust with quality ingredients. Since switching my Brittany from the food she ate at the breeder I have noticed a marked improvement in her coat and amount of scratching.
This food is great not only are the feeding portions smaller so I know their eating what they should when they should but it’s a better quality them most and because that you can tell by how the pups love to eat it unfortunately it’s 70+ a bag being the only downfall great food overall
