No. None of Merrick Pet Care's recipes are being recalled.
What is the difference between Merrick grain-based and grain-free foods?
Some pets develop food intolerances or food allergies and grains can be difficult for a pet's stomach and intestines to break down. If your pet has a sensitive stomach, our Grain Free recipes can help their digestive system problems. At Merrick, our Grain Free recipes feature higher levels of proteins, omegas, glucosamine and chondroitin.
Do Merrick’s Grain Free recipes contain fillers and chemicals?
We are committed to using only the purest ingredients in our recipes. Our recipes contain no ingredients from China; no poultry by-products; no artificial additives or preservatives; no artificial flavors or colors; no corn, wheat or soy; and no glutens. We've excluded these ingredients because we believe pet food should be fuel, not filler.

Struggles to finish...
By CatDaddio on Dec 25, 2020
My male tabby has a great appetite, Merrick seems like high-quality food, but he consistently doesn't want to finish a 3oz package of the duck, licks up gravy and leaves the chunks. By contrast he LOVES the rabbit one and will eat (2) 3oz packages of that licked completely clean. I'll just be getting the rabbit from now on.

Cat enjoys this, very moist
By KHP1 on Feb 3, 2021 Top 1000 Contributor
My cat is enjoying this and another flavor. I did not have to convince her at all to try it. It is very moist and has enough for me to give her 2 feedings from it.

Cats love it

My 2 cats love this stuff. They are kittens and they share one pouch each meal (2x daily).

UTI and Allergy cat approved
By Volkyra on Aug 18, 2020
My male cat is prone to stress induced UTIs and has an autoimmune disorder such that he can't have chicken or shellfish. These packets have been an amazing option for him- no allergens and are low phosphorus (211 mg/100kcal) to help keep his urinary issues in check. Highly recommend. I also feed the rabbit version because he loves that too (255 mg/100 kcal).

Cat likes this food

Our cat can be pretty fussy but surprisingly he eats this food.

Senior gal loves the texture
By Betty on Apr 22, 2020 Top 1000 Contributor
My senior cat loves the duck and especially the pieces of duck versus pate' which she isn't a big fan of. It gets difficult to find this texture in cat food, guess it's easier to fill a can with mush (pate) then the chunky pieces. I'll pay more for food that my cat enjoys consistently. I find the pouches messy, but it is a small inconvenience as long as my cat will eat it. She has hyperthyroidism and it's very difficult to keep weight on her, so when I find something she will eat and that is healthy I'll buy it. I do love Merrick products.

Keeps my girl happy
By RussianBlue2 on Oct 28, 2019
Hi. My cat is allergic to almost everything. Unfortunately for her almost everything that is ok for her is pate and she really prefers a different texture. So far, this is the only duck flavored food, with no hidden ingredients, that has a chunk texture that she likes. Sometimes the chunks need to be cut down as she has some teeth gone and it makes it easier. I would buy all the flavors she isn’t allergic to, but within the ingredients are some foods she cannot have. Merrick, please make LID chunky.

My cat is obsessed with duck and this the perfect meal for him
By STiGirl on Aug 20, 2019
When you open this pouch, you can really smell the duck and my cat really goes for it. I feel good about the ingredients and the quality of the food. I wish the morsels were a little smaller as my cats are also seniors and have had some teeth pulled.

Great for allergies
By AllergiesRus on Feb 2, 2019
This has been a life saver! I have a cat who is allergic to everything but duck, goose and turkey. I feed her raw, but with raw, you need to watch them eat it and take it away quickly. I needed something I could leave out for longer. I put this down and she has it gone in about 2 hours. Makes my mornings so much easier! I’ve tried every LID out there and she hates them. She really likes this.

Good quality but...
By Bklyn718 on Feb 22, 2019 Top 250 Contributor
Good quality but not a favorite for my cats, including the ferals who should eat anything. Decent amount of gravy with large chunks. Probably won't purchase again considering the price.
