None of my cats like Merrick brand food.

    By on

I don't know why, but I cannot get them to eat it. They will pick at it when they become hungry after refusing earlier meals, but otherwise will not touch it. I didn't realize this food was Merrick (I was looking for a raw brand to introduce them to and wasn't paying attention), and sure enough, even years later, and with different cats, they still refuse it. I fed it to my colony cats who will eat just about anything.

My two cats appcet this food

    By on

I try to feed high quality of cat food for my girls (1 yr old). They usually eat several high quality cat food that I mix for them. I bought this cat food from different store because it was on clearance. I was not sure whether my cats eat the freeze dried food because both of cats refused to eat other company's freeze dried raw treat. One of my cats started to eat the freeze dried food before she started to eat the kibbles. The freeze dried food is not too hard, and she seemed she was enjoying the new texture. The other cat seemed she didn't recognize the freeze dried food as her food, and just ate the kibbles only on the first day. This cat food is very expensive due to the higher quality than many other cat food, but I probably can afford if this food is on clearance. … more

My cat LOVES it. PLEASE read !!!

My cat loves this food. He’s very fussy, I just wish there was more of the freeze dried pieces he usually eats them all and once you get to the middle of the bag it’s all kibbles. Buuuut he seems to like this food, and I’ve noticed since feeding him this that his fur is super shiny and soft. He is full of energy and is super lovable and is always excited for food. With other foods he would just eat a little and throw up but he doesn’t throw this up at all, also I tried another food when I was low on cash and it seemed that he was constantly hungry but when he eats this food it seems to fill him so he’s not overeating. I LOVE this food and this brand, I stick by the dry and wet food and recommend My cat loves this food. Better Kibbles & Raw Bits

    By on Top 1000 Contributor

I tried my cat on Wellness Core's Raw Rev, and several of the freeze dried raw bits were very hard. I ended up breaking them apart for him because he wouldn't eat them otherwise. I went back to Young Again, which I love as a pet food but it doesn't always seem realistic to buy dry food from one website and his wet from another. I decided it was worth it to try another and see if the raw bits would be softer. Well... THIS IS IT! I did start him out with breaking the raw bits apart but found that they shattered very easily (turning into powder as a freeze-dried... anything... should do), softer than the kibble! I decided to try just giving it to him without breaking the raw bits and low and behold I tried my cat on Wellness Core's Raw Rev, and several of the freeze dried raw bits were very hard. I decided to try just giving it to him without breaking the raw bits and low and behold... he eats them without a problem (well, other than he thinks he should get this for dinner too)! My cat loves kibble and can't maintain a healthy weight with the one canned food he will eat (Fancy Feast, which I also highly recommend for low-carb wet food). He also has very few teeth left I'm glad I was able to find a raw food that he will actually eat ALL of. Merrick does a good job on canned food as well (my old man kitty liked quite a few of their varieties and they are all surprisingly healthy), so not surprised they could do raw kibble correctly. So long as they don't change their source for the raw bits I think we will likely continue to offer this food to our fussy eater. … more

    Snacking but not eating much

    By on

My four cats did not care for this formula. They ate just enough to avoid starving. I liked the ingredients and it really seems to be good food but for some reason, the cats were just not thrilled.

    Raw stuff in there

    By on

So far there has been quite a bit of the freeze dried bits in this bag. Hope that stays consistent. The cats pick it out first and then refuse to eat the rest of the kibble for a while but they do eventually. They seem to like it so far.

    High Protein and a Treat

    By on

This food is high protein and my cat loves the freeze dried bits, so much that he will sometimes eat them before the dry kibble. Not a problem for my cat but may upset the stomach of others. Over 6 months feeding this food and my cat definitely has a silkier coat, is at a great weight and, has a lot of energy.

Finally got to try this. I personally selected it for my pets because of the ingredients and nutrients. However, they didn't care for this food.
