FAQ

Does Merrick have coupons available?

From time to time, we do offer special promotions on our food and treats. The best way to ensure you know about these offers is to sign up for our newsletter. Please visit e-mail sign up to ensure you don’t miss out.

Are any Merrick products currently being recalled?

No. None of Merrick Pet Care's recipes are being recalled.

What is the difference between Merrick grain-based and grain-free foods?

Some pets develop food intolerances or food allergies and grains can be difficult for a pet's stomach and intestines to break down. If your pet has a sensitive stomach, our Grain Free recipes can help their digestive system problems. At Merrick, our Grain Free recipes feature higher levels of proteins, omegas, glucosamine and chondroitin.

Do Merrick’s Grain Free recipes contain fillers and chemicals?

We are committed to using only the purest ingredients in our recipes. Our recipes contain no ingredients from China; no poultry by-products; no artificial additives or preservatives; no artificial flavors or colors; no corn, wheat or soy; and no glutens. We've excluded these ingredients because we believe pet food should be fuel, not filler.

    Four Paws Up

By HopperandGinsburg on Mar 9, 2021

My two sixth month old kittens eat this right up. They have very shiny coats and one of my cats who had some skin issues cleared right up after switching to this and the kitten wet food in gravy by this brand.

    Their second favorite food

By cenmad on Jan 28, 2021

We had been giving our kittens the carnivora dry food, which they loved. That seems to have been discontinued, so we had to search for a replacement. The kittens started on the picky food plan early in life, apparently, because it took several tries to find one they would eat. This was it.

    they love it!

By Loie on Feb 6, 2021

My 2 kittens, 9 months old now, have been very picky eaters. I have tried a much more expensive freeze dried kitten food and they just won’t eat it. But they loved this one from the first bowl.

Even my adult cat tries to steal it!

By lali on Jan 23, 2021

We bought this for our kitten since she was eating adult food when we got her. She loves it and our adult cat tries to eat her food too...! No complaints here and I love that it’s an American company.

    No problems with Merrick

By Joker on Jan 14, 2021

This was an okay kitty food! We purchased it when the regular food was out of stock. Both cats liked it but not over their regular Royal Canin.

    Causes Vomiting!

By Lauren on Sep 10, 2020

Bought this food for my kitten and all was well. Went to buy it again, and the kibble was larger, darker, and smelled different. There was no indication of a changed formula on the bag. My kitten did not want to eat this food (and he likes to eat everything) and when he did, he would immediately throw it up. I looked up other reviews online and there are a lot of reviews claiming it caused vomiting.

    Chicken bites a bit big.

By winterwolf on Oct 31, 2020

My 3.5 month old kitten really likes this cat food but the freeze dried meat bites are too big for him to eat. I am comparing this with Diamond Naturals and he likes both brands.

    Hit or miss

By Litter on Sep 12, 2020

My cats like it but only if there is enough chicken bites in it. I gave this a 4 star because you don't always get enough chicken bites for your money. The last bag I had had tons of chicken pieces. The bag before had barely anything in it. But my little ones like it so I keep getting it.

    They love it!

By Cindy on Oct 1, 2020

We have 3 kittens and they were turning their nose up at other foods. My daughter told me to try this one and they like it much better. They go right for the dried raw morsels. :-)
