cleared up my dogs skin and gas
My dog was a rescue from a Tennessee shelter so we had no history or breed information on him, their best guess was lab mix. After we brought him home we started him on typical puppy chow, he would stink us out of the house, it was horrible. He stools were soft, he’d eat them fresh and then months later the skin issues started. Trips to the vet for suggestions and topicals made it worse so next up was to change his food. We tried this Merrick first since it’s poultry free and his skin cleared up within a couple weeks. He stopped eating his poop, which also firmed up. He still has occasional gas but I attribute it to being a lab mix.
Easier than going to the feed store
I am very happy with my order. My local feed store is always running out of the 12 lb. bag of dog food and wants me to buy the 25 lb. bag. I am over 80 and cannot lift the 25 lb. bag. The dog food was perfectly packaged and arrived so fast. Saves me from going to the feed store.
Didn't work for my dogs
My little guy won't touch the stuff until he's starving and it gave my big one diarrhea well past the new food adjustment period. Not going to force it down their throats, guess I'll toss it and buy something else. Unfortunate.
My two didn’t care for it
I’m sure this is good food but my two is not enthuses with it. I have to doctor it up with can food or toppers etc and still leaves in the bowels until they eventually will eat. On to find the one they will enjoy.
Tried Merrick
So glad I went with 24 lb and not the 33. Our lab will not touch it! She'll get real darn hungry after a while because she has 24lb to go through before I order something else!
nope for my dogs
My dogs will not eat this at all. I even mix with soft cause I don’t want to waste it. It’s expensive in my opinion. One dog will eat around it spit out on the side!

hi quality.. LESS FILLERS than some others. NO BEANS NO PEAS!!!!!!!!!!!!! those 2 items only CREATE A LOT OF GAS!!! He seems to like it...and he is VERY PICKY.

My dog was smelling the box before I opened it, it's been love at first smell. He's been stoked to eat this (mixed in with his previous food) for the last two days. Unlike all previous dog food bags, I'm actually afraid to leave this one out because he might tear into the bag lol. He's never been that happy about kibble unless I add things to it like meat or broth, or if it's another dog's food. Hopefully it lasts, I think he tends to get bored of the same food. The last food I had been buying was Blackwood adult dog large breed Whitefish Meal & Oatmeal Recipe, he burned out on it to where he ate sparingly.. In time he has developed dry skin. I'm hoping that after 4.5/5 cups a day of this new food, he'll be getting all of the omega he needs and his dry skin issues will start to be reduced, we live in a very dry air climate.
Bag ripped open when delivered
Opened box and bag ripped open, food all over in box. Called Chewy and new bag sent. Opened up this box and guess what? Bag ripped open. Called Chewy and and ANOTHER bag sent. Guess what? When this bag received, it was torn open as well! Partial blame on Merrick for their bag sealing design; major blame on Chewy warehouse workers for mishandling bags as they are packed for shipping (appears they workers rip the bags as they throw the bags about while in the warehouse and into the boxes). Also, have not received a box yet from Chewy where the box was in good shape and properly packed.
My Dogs Refuse to Eat This
I purchased this with high hopes but was extremely dissapointed. Both of my dogs refuse to eat this food. Tjey are not picky eaters at all but will leave this food in the dish all day and whine with hunger. At meal time they get excited to eat and as soon as I put this in the bowl they sniff and walk way. I bought it on sale so maybe it was overposed to heat or past it's expiration (sadly I emptied it into an airtight container and threw the bag out.) I can get them to eat it if I pour broth over it but even then they leave anything not touched by the broth and since I don't know wy they are refusing it don't want to entice them to eat spoiled food. We often switch brands and I have never seen a reaction like this before. All in all a huge waste of money as I have to buy new food and waste an entire bag of $$$ food :(
