    took a chance

    By 3doggies on Apr 7, 2021

So I had my dogs comfortable with a brand until I notice it was selling out fast or was no longer being produced here on Chewy. Either way I was looking for an American made, healthy replacement and bought this brand. Got the smallest bag just in case they didn’t like it and I’m happy to say I easily replaced the old brand with all of Merricks choices. They are 3 happy doggies

    Likes steak but not bison.

By TillieJRT on Apr 2, 2021

My dog loves chicken and steak. Thought I’d try this bison flavor. She literally picks thru it and spits it out. Too expensive for another experiment...I’ll give mine to our shelter.

    Only food He will tolerate

By Harley on Feb 16, 2021

When we first got out pit he had to be on high protein since he was so underweight. He gained it back quickly with this food and when i tried to take him off he stopped eating. So we are right back to this food.

    Quality has deteriorated

By Pheasant on Jun 4, 2020

I have been purchasing from Chewy and using this food for years. Ever since the name change, the kibble quality has gotten terrible! The food seems more dry and powdery AND the price has increased. I may have to start looking elsewhere for a different brand.

Our love of Merrick food and Chewy"s love and care they take of our fur babies

By Chewylover on Mar 27, 2020

We have a boxer senior rescue that is at least 12 because we have had him 8 yrs. We also have a 5 yr old boxer allergic to grain and poultry. We have found yhe Merrick bed and bison grain free food works well for both of our boys. We also use the lil bites chicken grain free for my 14 year old blind pekingese and our puppy mill Boston terrier. My boston os now 13 yrs old bit when we got home we tried every food possible. We happened upon Merrick lil bites grain feed and needless to say he is a happy, healthy 24 pound old man. He no longer projectile vomits. We have been using chewy for at least 2 or 3 years and wouldn't change a thing.

    Not yet tried.

By Junebug on Apr 21, 2020

I haven't fed my dog with this food yet: would be happy to provide honest review once she's been on it for a while. No option to leave rating blank though, which explains why I didn't check the box for recommending this product. Meanwhile, please see my comments below about your outstanding Customer Service.

    Kibble quality was poor

By JandG on Feb 26, 2020

We have purchased this product in the past from Chewy as well as in local retail stores. We have gotten a bag from a retail store in this condition once before. The kibbles are mostly intact, but the entire bag is filled with "dust" or chunks -- large particles that have broken off of the kibble pieces. I did check the expiration date and the bag was OK, but it does make me question the quality of the ingredients that went into making that batch of kibble if they are falling apart. I have been watching my dog very carefully (appetite as well as stools) to make sure he is doing OK. This was not upsetting -- it was just unsettling and gives me pause. My picky shiba loves this kibble

By Rosie on Feb 23, 2020

Had to change from dry kibble of formerly premium brand which became less digestible to my dog after company moved from Canada to Kentucky and cheapened formulation. My fussy Shiba loves this Bison/Beef/sweet potato premium kibble which has no powdered crushed kibble in 4 lb bag. I mix it with a fresh refrigerated also grainless dog food.
