she hated it
By jackiec on Feb 11, 2021
She loved duck so I thought I'd try this. She hated it. It is drier than most canned food. I tried mixing it with others but she managed to get around it. Gave it to a friend who has 3 cats, hopefully one of them will like it.

Great food....kitties love it
By ABJonsdottir on Nov 9, 2020
Merrick duck formula is the best! Our kitties all love it. Tried the tuna formula but the kitties didn't like it. Our cats are older guys and gals so we give them premium, healthy food. Merrick duck formula is what they love!

Only food my cat won't eat
By Benji on Aug 20, 2020
I feed my cat three different brands of canned food in rotation - both pate and chunks - so she is used to variety. She usually gets excited by and will eat any brand or flavor of wet food, but not this. She gives this food a sniff and spurns it every time. She won't even eat it when mixed with tuna, her favorite wet food, dry food, cheese or eggs...

Lili likey likey
By LiliandVem on Aug 19, 2020
Lili the cat loves this too! I combine this sometimes with Vital Essentials' duck party entree for texture but I even give this to her standalone as a snack (I give her a quarter if it's only for snack time or between meals)

Picky eater actually likes this
By MeepMeep on Jul 30, 2020
Had to find a LID food for kitty with IBS. After trying multiple single protein, LID foods which he hated, he will finally eat this food. Too soon to tell if it helps with his vomiting issue but at least he likes it!

my cat not interested
By Ginger on Jun 22, 2020 Top 1000 Contributor
I looked at reviews before I bought and was hoping my one cat who is having some food issues, would eat this but he turned his nose up. He has had this before when I bought a few cans at Petsmart. I am still on the hunt so will donate to my local animal shelter.

Great for my cat with IBS
By Jackson on Jun 24, 2020
My cat is allergic to grain and chicken. He lost weight when he went on a grain-free diet. This food put the pounds back on him. He loves it!

Only one protein for cat with food allergy
By Foodie on Apr 29, 2020
The cats love this so much they grab at the can even though they just ate. If your cat has protein allergies, give this a try. It contains just duck and no other meat protein.

Better than prescription food
By Kate on Feb 13, 2020
I have been trying to find a limited ingredient food that my cat will eat and not trigger her allergies (vet believes she's allergic to chicken). She wouldn't eat the prescription foods the vet gave me and the blue buffalo limited ingredient wasn't her favorite and she still had skin issues. She eats all of this Merrick food and my other cat likes it as well (so I don't have to separate them at feeding). I've been using this food for about 3 weeks now and her skin is already much better and she's not constantly grooming anymore. I just wish the top was easier to open, it doesn't pull off easily.
