Next to another brand of treats, these are my beagle's all time favorite treats. She loves them so much that I have to ensure that the sealed bag is out of reach because she will steal the bag, chew a hole in the side and gorge herself on them!
I'm giving them to my puppy during training. They're a little harder than other chewy treats I've purchased. It's also a bit bigger than I'd like but they break pretty easy. Overall pretty good to work with and my dog loves them.
My picky Roxie girl, tiny 12 yr old miniature poodle with chronic GI issues and food sensitivities LOVES these. I love the ingredients for her, (many rabbit or duck dog treats still have some form of chicken in them, check ingredients closely). Only protein source in Merrick’s is deboned rabbit. I break into smaller pieces because she prefers to get LOTS of treats one after the other! I’ve purchased countless bags. Highly recommend!
All Merricks are great treats and I like that I can find treats that do not have chicken in any shape or form in them!
My GSD tells me these are lovely. As long as he can never seem to catch a rabbit himself, these will have to do.
My dog can be a bit picky so I thought I’d try a higher end treat from Merrick which is usually a pretty good brand. These are rather pricy and even with the price of meat I’d still be better off buying a rotisserie chicken or human grade chicken strips from grocery store for the same price or less to use as treats. These treats are like brown gummy bears. He literally tries them and then spits them out. I need a training treat that will motivate him. He won’t even take them for love or money.
My Labrador becomes so excited to have one of these treats she begins to actually chatter her teeth in anticipation! She absolutely lives then. I’ve had labradors for 40 years and I’ve never had one chatter their teeth in anticipation of a treat before! She literally quivers with excitement!
My dog really enjoys these treats. Perfect size for training sessions. Low calories and nutritious. Can give as many as a dozen at a time.
Having not tried these myself, I can't speak to their flavor. I have two dogs who both think they taste great. I like them because they are small, chewy (there, I said it!), and they don't dry out too quickly in my pocket. One of my dogs has lots of allergies and can't eat poultry or beef. These things don't have anything, but good ingredients that anyone with a sixth grade education can pronounce.
Mom and I appreciate that we have one more rabbit treat for me as I am on a food trial for allergies. It has been a bit of a challenge to find acceptable rabbit treats so that I can enjoy variety within the limited scope of having only one specific protein that I am allowed. Thank you, Chewy, for adding one more delicious treat that I can enjoy!
