What does a cup of this food weigh? I'd like to know how long one bag will last for one 12.5 lb cat given the feeding instructions.
Answer by • Jan 01, 2020
In this formula there is approximately 4 cups per pound. With that being said there are 50 cups of food in the 12.5 pound bag.
What is the carbohydrate count for this brand? I have a diabetic cat and need to watch her car intake. Thank you
Answer by • Jun 21, 2021
This recipe contains a Carbohydrate content of 31.22% on an as fed basis.
What is the phosphorous content on a dry matter basis?
Answer by • Aug 16, 2020
This variety contains approximately 0.80% Phosphorus content on an as fed basis (0.89% on a dry matter basis).
This cat food got good reviews online and when I read the ingredients and nutritional content I was pleased also. My cat likes it, but to be honest he likes just about everything. What I'm happiest about is the low phosphorus content, which my vet advised me about. And the low fat content, as my large framed cat is also a couple pounds overweight. He's been healthy and energetic.

Ok but not great
My cats did eat this, which is a good thing. But it made their poop absolutely rank and when I switched to my old brand I realized how reluctantly they had been eating this. It is a fine option but there are others that are better and similarly priced.

Big plus fat cat likes it
I have not fed the food to the cat, Sherl, long enough to see a weight change but he is eating it, after turning his nose up at it at first. I think that it’s easier for him to eat because it is smaller than what he usually eats.

Do not buy this
None of my five cats will eat this food... I guess that is one way to control their weight. They sniff and look at me like “yuck” and walk away.

They love it!
We have 3 cats, two of which are pretty finicky. All 3 love this food. I’ve even caught our mini dachshund trying to eat their food. We keep the kitty bowls on the cat tower for just that reason.

Great results
My vet told me last year my cat was getting older and needed to lose at least 2 pounds, so it was time to switch to a low calorie food. Over a year later I can happily say he's down 3 and still loves his food.

Either 3 or 4 stars, I can't be sure.
Everything I ordered this last time trying to save some money, turned out to be items they won't eat. I had to go to the grocery store (gasp! ha.) and pick up some cheap canned food to get them back to giving me a chance with the new things again.
Three cats, fat as houses and they barely eat this stuff. That MAY be a good thing. For now, we don't have any decent canned food for them that they'll eat, so it's what they have. I'm not unhappy with this food, but I will say it's not as good as the other dry food I was getting for them, "Go! SENSITIVITIES Limited Ingredient Duck Grain-Free Dry Cat Food". It needs a big name because it comes with a big price tag, but it's a really, really good cat food.

My cats hate it
To be fair, my cats generally are not fans of grain free high protein food but they need to lose weight and only pick at their wet food. I had been giving them a diet food by Instinct that they begrudgingly ate. I felt bad so thought I would try something different. I mixed this in with the Instinct to get them transitioned and they just stopped eating dry food altogether. Guess it was good because they started eating their wet food, but they absolutely refuse to eat this.

Cats said "nope"
Mixed it with regular food and somehow they picked out just the kibble they were eating previously. Have never seen the kibble bowl with food still in it the following day.

Great food!
I've had my cats on this for years, and they have lost weight and are very healthy! I will continue to buy this and the Merrick wet food. High quality and my vet approves :)
