    Beef Wellington is a hit

    By Kate637 on Mar 1, 2019

All 3 of my cats love this product. They like all Merrick varieties but the Beef Wellington seems to be a special favorite. I worried about a case of the same thing but so far they are not tired of it. It would be great if Chewy offered a variety pack!

Beware - under-weight cans happen too often

By NoLongerMerrickFan on Jun 23, 2020

Last several months the number of under-weight 5.5 oz cans has increased. Last case of 24 cans had 21 underweight cans. Overall, the case was 7.125 oz underweight across 24 cans .... more than a full can. This should be an easy-to-detect manufacturing problem (just weigh the cans and/or case), but Last several months the number of under-weight 5.5 oz cans has increased. This should be an easy-to-detect manufacturing problem (just weigh the cans and/or case), but Merrick quality control does not catch these issues. This is a fairly expensive flavor, and Merrick is under-filling the cans by 5.4% on average. Other vendors do better. I'll be switching brands … more

    Unsure about this flavor

    By on

My cat is on the second case of this flavour and it has been making her sick. I'm not sure if this was a bad batch but it's a little disconcerting. The first case wasn't an issue and she enjoyed the taste. Beef might also just be too strong of a protein for cats.

    Soupy food

    By on

I don't remember it being so soupy. The last two cases it seems have been more liquid than food. Cats live it though.

My cat licks the gravy but leaves the meat

    By on

I must have the pickiest cat ever and i thought he'd love this food, it looks so good, but he leaves the meat and licks the gravy. Ugh!

Food is great but ever since this year...

    By on

I have been giving my three year old cat the same can of food for three years and I have never had a problem until this year. My cat loves this brand and this specific flavor but for some reason, each time I order a case of Beef Wellington and open various cans I find 3/4 jelly and 1/4 actual food for my cat. This has been disappointing me and this problem has only occured ever since this year. It may very well be a factory problem but this is unacceptable due to the loss of money for this product. Please check this out.

    Cats like it

    By on

This is a good food....looks good, texture is small bits in light gravy. Cats like several of the Merrick foods. I would buy them more often if they would take out the carrageenan. I would give this 5 stars without the carrageenan.

    Good, but not great

    By on

Something about the beef formula was just not very appealing to my cat, although she does like the duck I got her just fine. It's a struggle to get her to touch the stuff (I have to mix it with other wet food), but if your cat likes beef, it might be ok. Disappointed by the lower protein content overall compared to Merrick's previous line of grain-free canned food B.G. Then again, better quality ingredients than what I used to feed my cat before switching her to a grain-free diet. Will not purchase again, but doesn't mean others shouldn't at least try it out.
