Recommend!
This is the first wet food from Merrick we've tried and it was a success with our senior picky eater. Chunks are hearty so she feels full and like she's getting something special - not just 'canned mush'. Plus, not gonna lie - it smells like it's pretty delicious BBQ. Definitely keeping this line in our food rotation; she's already on her 3rd flavor and all have been a hit.
Good food but hard
The chunks of chicken were harder than I ever imagined they would be even after heating them in a microwave. Other chicken meals have much softer chunks. My Boston Terrier had no problem with the chunks but it could be a concern for other small dogs.
Good, but not for us
I received a sample of this dog food free for testing purposes. The top ingredients in this dog food are all easily recognizable, which I appreciate. It is also the best smelling dog food I have ever experienced. I have a 12 year old yorkie dachshund mix who only has a few teeth left. She can only have very soft food, so I was worried about the chunks. Thankfully, she didn't have any problem chewing them and was very interested in the food on the first day. Unfortunately, my dog also has a very sensitive digestive system and most dog foods can upset her stomach very easily. The next day she would not eat, which is usually the indication that she isn't feeling well. We typically make her food from scratch, but even then she does have occasional problems anyway, so it is possible that this was a coincidence and not related to the dog food. For this reason, I am giving it 4 stars. I think most dogs would love this food and not have any problems with it.
Created an addict..
I feed my dogs dehydrated food, and sometimes they get bored with it, so I add a little canned food as a topper. They really enjoy that, but when I break out the BBQ they act like they're starving. My oldest is obsessed with it. I wont feed it to them every day, because I know the BBQ will cause issues with their sensitive stomachs if given too often (plus it's a nice surprise). However, once the can is gone Oliver gets really stubborn and tries to boycott his food (even with other flavors of canned food). The chunks are pretty big (my dogs are about 12 lbs each), but I just cut them into smaller pieces and it's fine. It smells just like BBQ chicken.

It was amazing!
I recieved this product complimentart and my dog couldn't get enough of this food! We have to grind her food up so that she doesn't choke on it and she has been rejecting her food by eating two bites then going in the kitchen and looking for more. But when we got the box she tried to take it out of my hand she was so excited! Not only did she like it but i like the ingredient list even more. I would highly recommend it to anybody with a picky eater for a 4 legged baby!

We received this can of Merrick Slow Cooked BBQ Memphis glazed chicken dog food free for testing purposes. Our husky Paloma loved it! Everything about it was very appetizing for her and since she grazes when she eats we decided to split the can in half and she was able to have a second helping of it. It’s aroma it gave off was very nice and pleasing since some dog foods smell fake and artificial. I was very excited for this one since everything about it is great for my dog and great for her digestive system. Such a great product.
Best pet food even picky eaters love this
I r thinkeceived the Merrick ad Zukes Slow-Cooked BfryBQ Memphis Style Glazed Chicken recepie grain free canned wet dog food free for testing purposes and joey our medium dog loved it. This food was very appealing to the eye and to joey. He saw the huge chunks of BBQ glazed chicken in gravy he ate the chicken chunks so fast. The chunks are huge put tender and it does look really good and smelled sweet We poured the juice over some loaf canned food he wouldn't eat and he swallowed it with the juice from Zukes and Merriks slow -cooked memphis style BBQ glazed chicken poured over it We also have a little blind mini pin that is diabetic and pancreatitis so we have to feed him a certain food and feed joey in the bathroom and spike seed that food when joey got done and was in here licking the plate. This in my opinion is a great food even for picky picky eaters. My blind picker eater smelled that and found the plate that joey had ate it out of!!@ joey ate the huge chunks in seconds he loved it and we poured the gravy over food he would not normally at all eat and he ate it like it was his favorite he ate it in minutes,! Its a great food for a good eater or a very picky eater. The can has we quiet a few huge huge chunks of tender glazed chicken beautiful chunks in a very appealing gravy. I reccomend to any pet owner for their pets especially a pet that is a very picky eater. I 100% reccomend to all pets

I received this product free for testing purposes. My dog is just over 9 pounds and incredibly picky. Usually she won't touch the chunky food, she eats primarily the ground or paté style entrees. When I opened the can and saw the big chunks I was nervous for our testing. 1 can is 3 servings for us. It smelled pretty sweet and like bbq, she was interested in what we were doing right away. We warmed it up a bit in the microwave and let her have it. She was interested in it right off and licked up the sauce pretty quick. She ate all but 2 of the chunks the first time she was offered this food, felt like a win. The second time she was offered a meal from this she just didn't touch it. Which honestly is fairly normal for any of the foods she has tried. The third meal she licked a bit then we mashed the chunks with a fork and she ate it all. So, it is probably a great food but my baby is super picky and prefers ground textures. I would purchase a ground flavor for her to try if I saw it in the store where I purchase her food now. It wasn't a super hit for us but definitely performed better than I would have guessed for a chunky style food.
