  • Of course it breaks apart easily it's a knuckle bone...

    By on

These are wonderful for power chewers. The negative reviews are by people that don't know about basic anatomy. This is a JOINT. Sorry, just get really annoyed when people write bad reviews because THEY don't pay attention to what they're purchasing. I personally love that it breaks in two because I have two power chewers so they get to share easily!

  • Messy and wasteful

    By on

Taking the bone from it's wrapping is a messy proposition, a significant amount of the meat and fat fell off and the bone separated into it's two parts. On the plus side my dog seems to enjoy it as much as the others.

  • Breaks apart easily is an UNDERSTATEMENT....

    By on

Bought this for my 9 mo old German Shepherd puppy... I know this breed and he is an aggressive chewer but I expected this bone to last at least ONE hour before breaking into shards... He had a two inch piece broken off within 5 minutes, had the entire bone broken in two large chunks within 15... These may have been quality products at some point, but after reading these latest reviews these are no good anymore. Anyone have suggestions on a bone that will last an aggressive chewer more than a couple hours? I know all about antlers and he has 1-2 of each type (Deer, elk, moose, and water buffalo), i was just looking for a bone as a treat that would actually last.

  • So sad, big dissapointment

    By on

I was so disappointed when I opened this bone, it was cracked into about 3 pieces and some of it had jagged edges so I couldn't even give it to my dog. this is the first time ever I have not been satisfied. It could be the brand, but I'll go back to the previous brand I have bought from you

  • Gone Baby Gone

Our dog left us alone for 4 hours chewing on this bone. There is still plenty left but it definitely occupied her time!

  • Although we will see about hours of enjoyment!

    By on

I purchased this knuckle bone for my 6 year old lab . He had it snapped into two pieces in about 15 minutes, I was really disappointed thought it would have lasted Longer !! Maybe he will have twice the enjoyment with two pieces :(

  • Large and non-splintery

    By on

We like to score our dog's chew toys based on the ratio of cost to time the dog stays occupied with it. Compared to bully sticks and hooves, The Tank bone has the best ratio. It doesn't seem to form sharp splinters like some bones and antlers. The only drawback is that it leaves lots of debris on the floor, especially when it's brand new. Totally worth the mess though.

  • Breaks apart

    By on

This bone breaks apart so easy. My doguess is not a heavy chewer, this should have lasted her months, yet it was gone within a week. It just fell apart into sand like prices. Maybe a bad bone, because I love most Merrick products.

  • My dogs loved these!

My dogs loved these and they kept them busy for days. They are messy so outside only is a must.

  • Not for us

My Newfie puppy is 4 months old and not a big chewer by any means! With that being said, I still had to monitor him closely as he was able to break the bone. You can probably also assume that the smell is terrible. SO potent!! I think if you had a small/medium dog this would be a great but for the bigger pooches I wouldn't bother, plus its quite expensive.. Raw beef soup bones at my grocery store are about $1 and have no chance of my puppy breaking them.
