    This is our second one - the first lasted more than five years. It looks good and is really useful - if a crate is going to take up that much space, it's helpful to use it as a shelf.     Beautiful, but...

    This crate is lovely to look at, but adding the wooden side pieces and top is a nightmare. The side pieces do not stay firmly in place so you can put the top on without being held there, which is difficult unless you have someone to help you. The side pieces do not stay firmly in place so you can put the top on without being held there, which is difficult unless you have someone to help you. I also suspect they would come off rather easily if you tried to lift it. I have mine in the corner of the room, and it works great there, but I think it might be a little wobbly otherwise, particularly if you want to use it as an actual table, as I do (I have one of those planter-looking litter boxes on mine.) If, at some point, I do have to move it and it comes apart, I may try some wood glue or something to hold it together permanently. Truly a shame, because as I said, it's a great-looking crate, and would be a five-star item if not for the assembly issues. … more
