Has helped my cat

She takes half a pill in the morning and half at night. Splits fine for me, I just use my nails. Her blood work came back much better after being on these. I am glad they are cheap!

My 26 year old cat is thriving

Sadie was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism last year and the Vet prescribed pills for it. I put the pills in Pill Pockets on top of her food and she eats the pill immediately. It’s made a huge difference in her accepting the pill and my stress levels. Chewy does a great job with getting the prescription from the Vet and mostly delivering it on time. This current order is not quite as quick, probably due to holidays. Thank you, Chewy!

Methimazole (Generic) tablets for cats

This was a substitute for Felimazole. Had to split in half for right dose & put in pill pocket but she could taste it as breaks up so had hard time giving it to her.

Hard to split evenly

I appreciate how quickly Chewy responded and shipped this order. The pills they sent are rounded type (bulging in the middle). My vet prescribed a half dose and a quarter dose. These particular pills are impossible to get a clean break in halves or quarters. The little cut provided is meaningless, the pills are too soft and split haphazardly without getting a clean dose. I've tried several splitting methods and none have helped so far.

Use a pill packet!

The pills might be more difficult to cut but if you place the piece/pieces into a pill packet…it makes it much easier to administer. My cat has been on this medication, for years, and this method works the best

awful tablet

My cat requires 1/4 pill each morning and it’s incredibly challenging to cut these tablets. I have a pill cutter but it doesn’t help much. Tried using a very sharp knife. Does not help either. They simple break or dissolve which means I am wasting pill after pill. You can’t create any consistency with the pills so I worry her doses vary each day. The old tablets were so much better, please bring them back or source another because this is very frustrating and concerning for our pets health. They do not sell them less that 5MG so this is my only option unfortunately.

Medication Isn't Good Anymore

The new pills are horrible they don't split instead they just crumble it's a good thing these are cheap or I would be even more upset because you can't tell if your cat is getting the right amount and you lose a large portion of the product because it crumbles into dust. I don't know who they're getting it from but they need to go back to the old place. I'm moving my prescription elsewhere.

Find it easier to administer to cat by crushing and dissolving it in water

As other reviewers have noted, the tablet is very crumbly, and my cat doesn't like the taste of it. What I had found that works for us is to cut the tablet in two and then crush half of it, dissolve it in water, and squirt the mix into my cat's mouth with a feeding syringe to make sure she gets the prescribed dose.

Tablets & Capsules

Buy small capsules & put tablet in capsule. Also, if cat takes other tabs that need to be split u can put both in same capsule. No bitter taste & u can buy flavored capsules. Hope this helps.

Round Pills No Good

The newer round pills are dusty, impossible to split cleanly and exceedingly bitter. My cat either smells or tastes the dust of the split pills and refuses to eat them. I used the previously available flat and wafer-thin pills stuck into some pill paste on a treat to administer the medication without issue. I contacted Chewy and requested the flat easy-to-split pills but was informed there was no way to choose generics.
