Metoclopramide is a drug used to treat nausea, vomiting, and reflux disease by normalizing their digestive system function.
Metoclopramide is given orally with plenty of water. Always follow the dosage instructions provided by your veterinarian. If you have difficulty giving the medication, contact your veterinarian.
Metoclopramide normalizes stomach contractions so that food and bile can pass in the correct direction. Metoclopramide also acts directly on the brain to help reduce vomiting. Additionally, metoclopramide is able to cross a biochemical blood-brain barrier to control nausea. Metoclopramide helps the vomiting pet by acting directly on the brain to reduce the sensation of nausea.
Metoclopramide will not cure the underlying cause of vomiting. Metoclopramide acts quite rapidly, but is short-acting, so generally must be given several times a day.

Had a bad experience with my lab. Three doses and my dog was getting weird. He absolutely wouldn’t leave my side. Had strange behaviors and would not recommend after reading the side effects. Took about 13 hours to leave his system but thank god he snapped out of it.
