This company has figured out how to make a perfect ceramic fountain. I was looking for a fountain that doesn’t require filters and is easy to clean, and I’m glad I found this fountain online. I love the blue color. The ceramic is solid constructed and well made. I got the fountain with motion sensor and this feature is nice bc it’s sensitive to motion and shuts off when not in use to save the pump and electricity. This size is perfect too for multiple cats. All you do is add water to the reservoir. Don’t waste your money on the plastic or metal fountains. This one is the best. I’m very happy with this fountain and so are my cats!
I was so excited but I thought it would be bigger and I thought that the tube could extend for higher water. It also has a crack in it … looks like someone glued it together or something so I’ll have to watch out for that. But Bear my cat loves it! He won’t stop drinking it. I wouldn’t say it’s worth the money though I would say it could be 50-60$ . But it is ceramic. And I don’t wanna keep buying filters!! So it’s like 50/50 . It is saving you money in the long run. I love it so much!! I’m so glad I bought it. Oh and the shipping was so fast!!! It came the next day :) . I’m definitely ordering from chewy again.
This fountain is beautiful but lacks the street smarts necessary to justify its expense. The tiny fountain jet is awkward and difficult to clean and reassemble. The filter clogs twice a week and requires cleaning too often. The cats liked it, but it just doesn't fit in our busy household. If you have an idea how we can get rid of it, please let me know.
Have had this fountain in gray for about 2 years, and it's still going strong. We love our fountains but will say they need regular cleaning to work right. If you find your pump isn't pumping well, chances are the pump needs a good cleaning. Cleaning the outside and wire mesh isn't enough. You will need to take apart the pump and clean inside using a pipe cleaner or qtip. If you don't clean the pump, it will eventually clog internaly and performance will decrease gradually until it either stops pumping water or starts spewing built-up sludge/algea. Even with other fountains, you should be cleaning the pump every do often. Deep cleaning is a bit of a hassle but I love being able to throw the ceramic parts in the dishwasher. The pump only needs an occasional deep cleaning so its not a major inconvenience. While it has its cons overall, this has been our favorite pet fountain. Only major complaint is the flimsy 3d printed parts. Using molds over 3d print would create sturdier parts and cost about the same to make. We plan to start making our own parts so we don't have to worry about replacement.
At first Kitty didn't like her new fountain because she wanted to drink from the deep water in the reservoir basin and couldn't do so without getting splashed in the face by the trickle from the shortest tower. When assembled as directed, the shortest tower is oriented in the same in the same direction as the tallest tower (see the photo in the ad). I turned the short tower 90 degrees clockwise so that it trickles in the direction of the edge of the reservoir and away from Kitty's face. This works very nicely if arranged just right. Now Kitty just loves her new fountain and hydrates far more than she ever did from her old dish ! ! ! Another tip: Always use distilled water to extend the life of the pump and protect the health of your pet. Final tip: The fountain runs most quietly by keeping the water level high because it has less distance to fall. Most pets prefer to drink from deep water anyway so their tongues don't hit bottom, and so they don't have to sink their head down into the reservoir to reach the surface of the water. I highly recommend this beautiful and functional fountain to every pet owner.
I have a lot of cats. Most of my cats love these. I love that they don't need replacement filters, so I just clean them once a week and go on with life. You do have to be careful that they're sitting on something level or else the water may flow out, but I've been putting mine in trays because some of my cats lick the rims and flick the water out onto the floor. They're beautiful, quiet, the motors are pretty robust, and I can have multiple cats drinking simultaneously. Only 3 cats still prefer the gravity waterer because they don't like the movement. Otherwise, I have 3, just ordered a 4th, and the three I have I love and have lasted years.
I was at first very happy with my fountain. I liked that it is dishwasher safe. The pump is simple and easy to clean, not a lot of parts. The fountain itself is a bit cumbersome to take apart and put back together because it’s big and heavy. It’s easily chipped. I am giving it only one star because after some time (7 months) it came out of the dishwasher smelling awful. It made the entire dishwasher smell. I think the unglazed part of it somehow absorbed odor. I contacted the company and they have not yet responded. It’s been 3 weeks. I think all of the fountain should be glazed and it would most likely fix the issue. I would stick with Pioneer Pet Big Max.
I don’t know why this has such low reviews. We’ve had this fountain 1.5 years now and my cats love it. I don’t clean the pump as often as I should, but the few times it’s stopped working, opening it up and using tweezers and vinegar to clean it has always got it back running again. Being dishwasher-safe makes cleaning the bowl and tower portions a breeze. Also being heavy ceramic makes it tough for my boy who loves water to knock it over.
It's great until you have to take it apart to clean it. Since I am an adult with adult-sized hands, I can't get the hose and the pump connected to the unit again. My hand doesn't fit in the opening.
Fountain connections did not fit together. I had to manually make the tubes bigger and smaller so they could connect to the pump.
