Best Investment Ever
By MeowMom on Dec 12, 2020
We bought this to distract the cats from scratching the back of the couch and this has been the BEST purchase we've made for them and us! When we let them into the house (from the enclosed porch), often the first thing they do is use the scratch post. AND they love using it when playing King of the Mountain and trying to knock each other off and show dominance. It stays well balanced even when our 13 lb Bob is fully hanging on it. He LOVES to streeeeetch on it too. You can see in some pictures that the top of the rope has moved down a bit to expose the cardboard underneath, but we've had it for over a year. I think it's held up pretty well so far.

I bought a second one years later!
By AmyG on Dec 29, 2020
My cats scratch the heck out of this post and has been a life saver for the furniture. Like other reviews have stated this is a heavy duty scratching post very substantial in size. It’s very sturdy and the sisal of rope is tight enough to get a good scratch. I’ve had the same post for about three years and it’s tattered and torn to shreds so I just bought another one. I’ll probably move the older one over to another area and still keep it as they use it every day. I’m just a perfectionist and want new things in my house. I’m excited to receive my new one. Cats really do need to scratch every day and I see some of their nailsThat come off and they must re-grow. Finally, a scratching post for large cats
By Mom2Many on Jan 13, 2021
I have been keeping an eye out for sometime for a post that would accommodate large cats -- not to be found until this one. I've been replacing carpeting for years on the old ones & was tired of doing that, but I had no choice if I wanted the furniture & door frames to survive. All 7 cats (rescued from the yard) of various weights & sizes are using this. After I bought the 1st one, I waited to see if they would all use it. I just ordered & received a 2nd one. The posts are sturdy enough that the larger cats don't knock it over & are able to fully stretch out when using it. I got quick delivery on each one, and there was no problem with the parts or putting it together. Unparalleled
By Zendegy on Dec 29, 2020
We've had this for 5 years. It traveled across country with us and has gone from being used by one 8 lb cat to being thoroughly enjoyed by 3 grown cats of about 8 to 10 lbs and 2 kittens on the regular. Aside from shipping boxes full of that brown craft paper, it is THE favorite toy. Of all of them. And occasional visitors (fosters). Often a few of them are chasing one another up and down it at speed. For those who would like a perch on top, you can build a similar post pretty easily; there are tutes available online. But I'm apparently lazier than I am poor and am happy to spend the $45 and let the cats perch elsewhere. About to buy another.

Industrial Strength Scratching Post
By Franklin on Dec 17, 2020
This is the best post my cats have ever had. It's massive and very well built. My two cats can use the post simultaneously. My four-year-old is a very tall cat (part Maine Coon). I have attached a photo of him by the old post for reference. As you can see the old post is fraying. This was the coolest holiday gift for all of us. It's a very good looking post and my big guy and his little sister are going to be able to get better upper body workouts and stretches. It's so much nicer than I could have imagined... I would have paid much more for this had I seen it in person. The old post is 30" (that's a decent post height) with a typical circumference. Great scratching post!
By PacificaMum on Nov 28, 2020
My kitties usually make short shrift of scratching posts - ripping the threads from the carpet base, destroying the raffia rope, and generally making a mess - but with this one, they've met their match. The base is covered with velour, not carpet, and the roping is tight and thick. This post is tall enough for them to stretch out fully. And, unlike in the past when only one of them "owned" the post (with the other one clawing the back of my chairs, grr), they now share it. Yay!

A must scratch for cats!
By Russell on Dec 7, 2020
I was deciding between this scratching post an a slightly smaller one (maybe 33 inches?) - and I am so glad I went for this one after reading the reviews. It didn't hurt that I got it for 1/3rd off the regular price either. It's huge, but that's why my cat likes it so much (11.5 lb cat). Plus, the fact that it's so in your face makes me feel like it's an intentional installation in my home unlike smaller scratching posts (which make me feel like I'm trying to hide them). He can stretch out completely when he scratches it and he sometimes even climbs up it with all four paws. Prior to this one, I had a 24 inch tall post, but it was too small and unstable for him to want to use. He figured it out quickly after I dangled his favorite feather toy around it and gave him treats every time he scratched it. Highly recommend this product! Don't try to choose the cheap way out like I did originally; you'll probably end up spending more money as you work your way up to a product like this than if you just went for this one in the first place. … more

giant but exactly what we needed
By Valerie on Nov 11, 2020
Ok so this thing is giant. I would suggest anyone considering it actually measure out the sizes where you plan on putting it to make sure you are good with the size. That said, we did measure in advance so we knew what we were getting into and this is a great scratcher. It’s sturdy and doesn’t tip, even when the cats get goofy and climb it like a tree. Two cats can scratch at once as well. They’ve both stopped scratching the couch in favor of this.

World’s Best Scratching Post
By Heidi on Dec 11, 2020
Wow, this might qualify as a cat tree! It’s so large. Other posts were too small for my cats to get a full stretch, but this mimics an actual tree and my cats no longer feel the need to use my furniture. They love climbing to the top at feeding time to get a better view. Don’t waste your money on smaller trees, go straight for this one!

Great for large cats
By Spensmom on Jan 5, 2021
This scratching post is tall! However, it is great for our rather large 10-month old kittens who outgrew their first post. They also like to play on it - one climbs to the top and sits there playing King of the mountain. Easy to put together and looks nice. Very sturdy.
