Looks like a nice heavy crate but it arrived damaged with the bottom supports bent and most importantly one of tue hooks was forced over one the sides while folded. I was going to go ahead and keep it because I needed a crate right away but the hooked side panel meant that I couldn’t even unfold it to use it. Chewy was great and said to donate it or throw it away and they’re sending me a new one. Unfortunate because I did need it for this weekend but I’m hoping a rescue can cut off the hook or bend it to release the side. I sure couldn’t get it loose.
I like this crate a lot for what I am using it for my 10# dog to stay safe from eating everything in sight like rocks, poisonous plants, digging, etc. He has a small crate for night sleeping but there is no room or space for him to turn around in and looks like a prison since it is small. The only thing I wish this crate was less in weight since I am 75 years old and find it too heavy to carry and cannot be portable for me to take overnight somewhere. Otherwise, I give the this crate a 5 star.
The measurements are WAY off on these crates! I bought one for my yorkipoo puppy to heal his foot when prescribed crate rest. To my surprise, once set up my puppy could not even stand up or turn around in it. Instead of 22x13x16 it actually barely measures 20x12x14 and those are outside measurements! Inside measurements are even smaller! My husband set it up and was shocked at how tiny it was. Having 2 doors on something this small seemed rather silly. I will probably find someone who has a pet dwarf bunny or guinea pig they are training.
We are extremely pleased with this dog crate. The construction of the crate is of the highest quality. It came with a divider which can be used with the crate for our dog while he still is a puppy, and expanded as he grows. The crate folds very nicely so so that it can be easily moved, or stored. This product is highly recommended.
Unfortunately when my crate arrived, a folded portion was caught in a way that couldn’t be unwedged. My guess is it was smashed in transit. I tried EVERYTHING to unwedge it, but it wouldn’t budge. The moment the was a slight transition the wire broke. Unfortunately that spot was key in the crate being functional. Thankfully chewy was wonderful and is sending us a new one. So, with the durability in mind while when it’s functional it’s a great crate, I wouldn’t recommend for a dog that would bust out of one.
These are very nice crates and very easy to assemble. We had the smaller one for our puppy to sleep in when he was very little. This is the second one and we have loved them. The best thing about this purchase is how easy Chewy makes it to order and receive. Our pup loves his new, larger bed and we all love Chewy!
Easy to assemble and sturdy. The crate mat is thinner plastic than others I have seen, so that might be an issue if you have a destructive dog. For a non destructive dog this is plenty sturdy, easy to assemble or fold and move and easy to clean.
The ease with which this cage assembled (popped up, really) was nothing short of remarkable. It's a bit on the heavy side, but that is most likely the result of its sturdy, robust construction. Great product!!
While we are waiting for our two bonded Bichons to arrive from a rescue, we order this crate so that both of them could be together when we are gone. Then we had a carpenter build a table over it to make it look more like furniture and placed it in the living room. That way, when we are gone, we can turn on the TV and give them a cozy place to sleep. Very portable, folds nicely.
These MidWest iCrates are great! I have at least one in every size, since I foster rescued dogs -- and you never know how big or small the next rescue is going to be. All of the crate-trained dogs love these, as long as they also have a comfy crate pad. Those dogs who aren't crate-trained like learning in these as long as they have both doors open and accessible. They soon learn there is nothing to fear and will start using the crate as "sanctuary."
