How much does the Large crate weigh?
What is the difference between the I crate and life stage crate by MidWest.
Answer by • Jan 18, 2018
Some iCrate Models (1518 - 1536) are narrower and lower than the Life Stages crates. The Wire Grid is closer together on the iCrate Models, while the Life Stages crate's Bars are closer together. If you're looking for a lighter product, then the iCrate models are for you. If you prefer a stronger product and don't mind the extra weight, the Life Stages models are for you.
Is it ok to have a larger pet crate to keep a small dog in so they have extra room play or is that a bad idea
Answer by • Mar 03, 2021
MidWest has some guidelines based on dog weight, and also breed recommendations. Many times people opt to go one size bigger than is recommended. In general there is nothing wrong moving up a size or two. However, you do not want a crate too big because, as the crates get bigger, the wire mesh spacing often gets wider. You may find that putting a small dog, say 10 pounds, in a crate made for a 41-70 pound dog creates a safety hazard because your dog can get portions of his body, or even head through the gap.
I plan on using the divider initially. Do I buy a full size pad? This will fit under the divider?
Answer by • Sep 05, 2017
We'd recommend getting the pad to fit the space you're going to use now, the bed won't fit under the panel.
