Let me start off by saying, in any other circumstances I would have NEVER purchased this cage. However, my mom will be taking care of my guinea pigs while I’m away so my only choice was to buy 2 of these. After researching and looking through Chewy these seemed to be the best choice… my guinea pigs normally live in 2 Midwest cages which are preferred. And what your guinea pig should be living in as well. I want to end this review by saying thanks to the other reviewers because I desperately needed advice while putting these together. It was a HUGE pain in the butt. I would also like to note I never fully got them together 100% but it will do. The average person would 100% struggle to put this together. I also received broken pieces for the plastic trays, but I’m not going to use them anyways.. it did make me angry/disappointed to receive damaged products.
This cage is amazing for my 2 Guinea pigs. Lots of space and came with a water bottle, hay rack, and food bowl. The extra hideout piece did not work for my Guinea pigs because they could not climb up it but I bet a rabbit could easily use it. Great cage easy to assemble and totally recommend. BUY IT!
I bought the 39.5in model and it is much bigger than I was expecting. His old cage can almost fit inside this one.. lol. It is easy to put together as well. It took 15 to maybe 20 minutes max. My boy, Alvin, loves his new home. He runs around and popcorns all day and spends a lot of time in his hideout now. The steps are a little on the steep side, but he does not seem to mind at all. He just jumps on and off of the platform. I was looking around for a bigger and more affordable cage and had no luck until I came across this one. What made it better was that it is from Chewy and I have ordered from Chewy before and never had any problems. My only complaint is that it took forever to get here.. lol. I was so excited to get it! It is a great cage. I would definitely recommend this to anyone.
Okay so! Everyone who is having trouble putting this together and the sides aren’t lining up with the holes, READ THIS! I was having the same trouble, got frustrated and almost gave up. You need to push the long sides really hard to get them to CLICK in! I couldn’t do myself, so I put the cage against a door and gave it my all and they finally clicked and the smaller sides went right in! After that, it’s a breeze and a great cage!
I got this and was excited because the size for my Guinea pig. The doors need a lot of room to open upward which can be annoying. (I have a mounted tv above one side) the water bottle that came with it didn’t work very well at all so please please be careful if using only this water bottle. I don’t like the pattern in the bottom it makes it a lot harder to clean especially with how annoying it is to take the entire cage apart every time.
This works well for our mini rex bunny however it would be nice if you could angle the "ladder" part differently and if there was a tray to slide out to make litter and cage cleaning easier
This enclosure is decent but it was impossible for me to assemble the bace at all my dad had to assemble it since me and my sister couldn't put it together and I have an injury that has made things more difficult I heard this cage was difficult to put together but I didn't realize just how difficult it was the doors and the frame are a tad flimsy it's sturdy but if you barely bump the cage when the doors are open they slam shut and it spooks two of my 3 rabbits a bit I like the fact that you can add extensions to both ends of the cage and I like the overall size but I don't like how difficult it was to put together or the issues with the doors slamming and they're pretty difficult to open and close since they keep getting bent so easily. I'd recommend it to those who don't have any issues with they're hands being weaker and for those who don't mind the issue with the doors being kinda flimsy and just slamming shut of you bump the cage while the doors are open and I wish the door on top was bigger I was originally going to get the living World Deluxe XL Cage and I wish I would of gone with that one but my Rabbits are overall pretty happy with it just I plan on getting them the Living World Deluxe XL cage anyways when I can I think my two more shy buns would prefer that one since the doors aren't known to slam shut at the slightest bump of the cage
I absolutely love this cage. When putting it together the holes for the walls weren’t in line but all I had to do was just give it a couple kicks for it to be perfectly in line. Sometimes all it needs is just that little push. My bunny loves it, It fits my one year old huge bunny so well, he has so much space to run around and even dig holes under is food trays! It is definitely a lot bigger than I had expected it to be (not complaining). I love the water bottle even though I do think it would be better if it would screw in (my bunny is rough with his water bottles and rips them down) but it’s still really good material. I also think the latches could be stronger but I’m not too worried about it because it still holds it shut. This is just overall an amazing purchase, with good sturdy material. This is my first time ordering from chewy and it definitely won’t be my last!!!
Got this for my trip Guinea Pigs and they love it. I do have to buy them a set of stairs to get up on top do I can use that space, but it's actually four a wabbit, so it's all good. I thought the side would be at more of an angel so they could climb up. Other than that it's a great habitat, easy to put together ( my 11 year old did it), and had ample room for two Guinea Pigs.
The long sides did not seem to click into place making it impossible to fit the short sides down on. I called customer service and they were very helpful. You have to force those long slats over until the partially covered hole on one end is visible. It will be hard and you will think you will break it and be sure you were sent wrong parts. I turned the whole cage onto each short side to use enough weight to pull down on each long slat until it finally budged and slowly slid then clicked in correctly. After that it was fairly easy. We bought the extension but it requires a Philips screwdriver so will do that this weekend. Length is fantastic. They should upload a video explaining how hard you have to press to click the long slides in place because it does move a small amount and you think thats it and it just wont fit. I bet they get a lot of unwarranted returns for this reason alone.
