What does the 36" version weigh of this gold zinc x-pen weigh? It reads in the listing "7 pounds" and that can't possibly be correct. I own the smaller 24" version and it weighs about 12 pounds (as listed here). I now have issues lifting things. It can't be too heavy, but I need an accurate weight.

You would have thought Chewy would have answered this…but i looked it up and the 62 x 62 x 36 inches; weighs 24.6 Pounds.

need a 3x3 playpen for small dog

Can I put 2 together to make a larger pen?
Answer by ChewyMay 29, 2021
Multiple pens may easily be joined together to create larger exercise spaces. You also have the option to combine your pen with a crate (sold separately) to create a roomy yet secure place for your pet. Please see the image below for reference.

stretched out, what it the total length of the pen?
Answer by ChewyDec 20, 2017
A single Pen has a total of 8 panels that are each 24 inches wide. If the Pen is straightened out, it's total length is 192 inches.

The finish is meant for DURABILITY, not AESTHETICS

People seem to be misunderstanding the finish on this pen. The gold zinc finish is there for durability. It just happens to be gold. It’s not meant to be an aesthetic gold finish. So if you’re looking for a beautiful finish, look elsewhere. If you’re looking for a finish that is less likely to break down and corrode than the black electrocoat finish, and don’t mind it being kind of gold colored, get this one. I chose it for the durability. I haven’t tested my recent purchase over time but I’ve used other ones with the same finish and they’re great.

Very flimsy

Panels bend easily, the entire thing is very flimsy even with gate closed. Gate is very hard to open and close and the pen is even more unstable when operating the gate. This thing can easily collapse on dogs- Not worth risking an injury.

Great pet pen!

This pen is first class, a great value. Solid construction - it's not going anywhere. Gold finish more attractive than typical pewter. Conveniently included 4 clips + industrial-strength ground staples for fastening in place.

love it

works really well. Can easily be made smaller by overlapping sections. we use it indoors so don't need the stakes. it has not marked up the floor

Black coated portable dog fence w/gate

I camp a lot with my dogs. I love these fences. I can create a small yard around my camper for my dogs by attaching them together so they can have freedom to play off leash. Gates make it convenient for me to enter and exit. Double top and bottom gate locks give extra security. Fences are sturdy but light weight enough for me to easily maneuver them. I love this product. I've used the 42", 36" and 24" models and all are good quality.

Still excellent

This is a great product, especially for the for the money. I have one of these exact gold zinc Midwest pens circa 2008, and after reading the reviews where people are upset about the "gold color" I believe the older ones were powder coated. Even so, the new color is still gold in comparison to black; the gold color gives a less harsh look in a house than the classic black wire crates or pens. This is very well made; it comes with hooks to adjust it, and it can be configured many ways. In my opinion Midwest makes the best quality crates and pens.

Used to construct escape-proof pen for cat surgery

These pens are great. I had gotten a 48-in one for my dog years ago and purchased a 30-inch one when I needed to find a way to keep my cat safely confined after two knee surgeries. I learned some tricks after the first time and ended up with the perfect cat recovery area! First I set up the 30" pen in a square around a table of the same height. Then I attached two panels of the 48" pen to form the "roof", supported by the table. I attached foam pipe insulation around the bottom and where the "doors" and top meet to keep it from making too much noise if another pet or human bumps into it (one of his sisters ran into it and scared the daylights out of everyone the first time!). Zip-ties securely attach the sections of the top and sides that I didn't need to open. I used the walk-through gate section as a quick way to get to the litter box (attached a piece of cardboard since there's a furnace vent on the floor to the left and I didn't want litter going down it) and I left one side of where the ends of the gate meet in front to open and close for feeding and attention. Whatever your use might be, these are great sturdy pens!

Definitely NOT Gold

Although advertised as "Gold Zinc" this play pen is definitely not the gold but rather green, pink & purple-ish. I tried my luck but to no avail. It is easy to set up though, simply unfold it clip it & you're done. It also folds rather nicely for storage.

Not as sturdy as I’d have hoped for

I have two chihuahua puppies using this and they seem to be able to push the door open
