To get the most accurate size harness for your pet, measure the girth of their chest, around the widest part of your dog's torso right behind the front legs, with a cloth tape measure. Pull the cloth tape snug, but not tight. If you don't have a cloth tape measure, you can use a piece of string and measure it with a rigid ruler afterwards. Make sure there's enough room for about two fingers between the harness and your pet's chest for comfort.

It fits around the chest but not around the neck. The lack of ability to adjust it makes it concerning to use as I fear he could come out of it. The smaller size was a perfect fit until he grew but the medium is so far away from how the small fit that I am afraid to use it.
We ordered 2 of these harnesses for our lab and golden, they did fit pretty well, however the buckles on the are extremely hard to use, my wife could not get the dogs out of the harnesses. I would not recommend these.
Very nice harness but unfortunately too big for my dog, so I need to return it. Make sure you measure your dog on the belly.
-I bought two of these harnesses for my two Comfort/therapy dogs who are my Rescue Girls. Both now weigh-in @ over 100 lbs apiece and they play hard causing me to replace harnesses and leads almost on a monthly basis! -These harnesses are going into their 3rd month of service without any visible damage/breaks/broken parts and my girls can be rough! -Great deal and value for your wallet.
A little big for our puppy who is a German Shepard, lab, and pit mix. He is now almost 4 mnths old & fits into it. It doesnt even fit our other small dog who is a fox terrier. Id suggest getting a size that will be a little small for your dog! Even adjusting it didnt fit our fox terrier
You better have strong fingers or a pair of pliers handy to unbuckle these. I have two of these large harnesses for my Great Danes and they work great and are well built but very difficult to unbuckle. The Chai's Choice Premium are much easier to unbuckle.
This harness, although sturdy, was not adjustable around the neck. My Doberman has a massive chest but an oddly slim and elegant neck. His proportions constantly create issues with harnesses. Chewy customer service is top notch and completed the refund promptly. Notability, the other harness from this brand was much more adjustable and we did end up keeping that one.
Excellent quality sturdy and very ample to 118# puppy "Buddy" is comfortable with harness no more pulling on collar and easy access handle very easy to grip.
effective and well made....and my dogs weigh 75 lbs each
I ordered this harness on 4/20 and called Chewy in May over concerns about it. The neck can not be tightened but he grew into it a bit better. I ordered a medium because he was large in girth. Chewy said that I could return it if not satisfided and I said I would give it a bit more time Unfortunately, the harness still spins around his body. A small would be too small. I use the front lead clip and twice his leash has come uncliped. I am using the same brand leash so it should be compatible. At 12:30 am I had my dog running loose and out in the street. The harness is unraveling by the back clip dispite the fact that we dont use that clip. I called Chewy today and they are replacing it vs the option to return/refund. I am disappointed in the amount of unraveling after only 2 months. I was told if it occurs again, it is a manufacturer defect and I will need to contact them. Like others, we initially had issues with the clips and it took two hands to release them. After a month they did become easier with use, so if the haress fits your dog well, hang in there. This is not the right haress for my 45 lb, one year old husky/lab mix. 1)Poor fit and spins 2)neck not adjustable 3)front clip has come off twice 4)unraveling after 2 months
