I love the Mighty Paw smart bell. I purchased it for my 12 week old Jack Russell mix. He quickly figured out he goes potty outside, but sometimes he would just sit quietly by the door waiting. I tried metal bells and they were so big and clunky - I knew they would destroy our door over time. I found this bell and I love it! There are tons of options for sounds but I prefer the traditional bell sound. Training to use was quick and easy. I taught him to hit the bell first and then associated it with the door and going outside. It just sits on the ground and he steps on it. It does slide around but I could stick it down if I wanted to. He does occasionally ring the bell just to go play, but 9/10 times he rings it to go potty. Great product. You can move the plug around so you can make sure to hear it, but it is pretty loud. We have been using it a couple months now and it’s great. No more accidents! … more

Most Helpful Critical Review
Read All 29 Critical ReviewsIt’s alright

The rings are kind of annoying for a dog doorbell. I don’t need a full chime. A simple ding would work. Also, the button and receiver never seem to stay connected. So have to figure out how to sync every time I start a training session

It worked for my puppy
By Adri on Feb 21, 2021
My 3month Labrador caught-on after a couple weeks. She now rings the door bell and waits by the door! I put it lower to her level so she can hit it with her nose or paw easily.

Works great!

Our puppy was trained with the bell to go out, but the issue was when she wanted to come back in she would jump up on the door and scratch it. Before we fix it, I wanted to make sure she had a way to let us know she wanted to come in and this bell works perfectly!

Still training.

I'm giving this a try because our rescued beagle has scratched our door to pieces. We are still working on training so I can't speak to the effectiveness yet. But I was worried we would be bothered by the sound and I don't find that to be an issue. We use the basic bell sound and there are volume levels.

Such a great product!
By Tricia on Feb 13, 2021
It took my pup 3 minutes to learn to use the bell to go out. I'm buying a second one for the outside of the door so she'll stop scratching up the door when she wants to come in.

Easy Peezy

Easy Peezy. Older dog trained in two days. Door bell loud enough to hear on the other side of the house. I would definitely recommend this. I purchased a second one for my other door.

We love it. Easy to install. Easy for our pup to understand.

Easy peasy!
By Nika on Jan 28, 2021
This doorbell was set up on a Thursday. We used training treats to entice her to push the bell on her own. Slowly but surely, we cut down the treats to every other outside break. Within a month, Nika was fully trained to ring the bell when she needed out. This by far was the BEST investment we've made.

Construction issue
By Cheweenie on Jan 23, 2021
I was able to train my dog to press the doorbell using a treat reward system. I eventually replaced the treat with going outside for a walk. The training went well. I do have an issue with the construction of the product. It uses clasps to connect the top and bottom half, which allows it to be pushed together for the bell indicator. My little pup has popped the top half off of the "bell" part and chewed it while i was at work. It comes apart very easily. She is not destructive generally, has plenty of chew toys and goes for two walks per day. I think she just enjoyed playing with the push button.
