How dose the safety stop work?
Answer by ChewyAug 28, 2017
Built-in safety stop can be moved into position to prevent overcutting or harming your pet.

How do you know where to move the safety stop?
Answer by ChewyApr 22, 2018
Hold the dog's paw securely and gently squeeze the center pad to extend the digits. Inspect the nail for the quick line, and adjust the safety stop accordingly. Place the nail through the opening of the cutting edges of the trimmer and cut the nail in a smooth, decisive stroke.

What model number are these Miller Forge dog clippers? My vet recommended Miller Forge, but specified 767, as his preferred model.

Best Clippers Ever!

I have two GSP dogs, weighing 68 pounds each, and these clippers indeed cut like butter. And boy, it's a smooth cut! I no longer have any use for my dremel to polish off the nail. They're also super silent with no loud "clip" sound to scare the dogs. Lightweight and easy to grip. I couldn't be happier! When I order from Chewy, I know I'm receiving an authentic product every single time.

My absolute favorite nail cluppers

I absolutely love these clippers. I use them for both my personal dogs and client dogs at my job. Cuts clean and doesn't crush the nails. The clicking also isn't "scary" for most dogs compared to other clippers I've used.

Sharp, but cheaply made and uncomfortable to hold.

These worked for me in a pinch when I was super broke, but now that I can afford better ones I'm tossing these. They are sharp, and they stayed sharp for about two years of intermittent trimming. They still slice cleanly through the nails of our Border Jack, English Staffordshire Terrier, and Pitbull. However, there are a lot of cons. The handles are very small and don't give a good sense of control. Not just small, but thin and flat. It feels like there's nothing to hold on to. I've had to do a lot of awkward angles to see the dog's nails AND feel confident snipping without worrying about the clippers slipping or twisting in my hand. The red grips slide off the handles as you squeeze them, so you have to stop to push them back on. The nail guard does not stay put. It is way too loose and just swings out of the way from gravity alone. I've never been able to use it. The blades started rusting after about 6 months of being stored in dry areas. I can't recommend these clippers unless you are really broke and really need clippers. They are the cheapest clippers I've ever seen, both in price and in quality.

Like Butter!

I have two 45lb dogs. One has the thickest nails I have ever seen on a dog. She isn’t the biggest fan of having her nails clipped so it’s Always a long process of shaving a bit off at a time. These new clippers are so much better than my old ones. They clip through her nail like butter. I do find it harder and more time intensive to fit the nail through the blade opening of the clippers but it cut them so smoothly and make it seem safer than the older clippers I was using. The red grips do slide off so I just make sure the adjust them when needed.

POOR CONSTRUCTION. GUARD FAILS

The first time I tried to clip my dog's nails the guard failed to stay in place and I cut into her quick causing her to bleed. Had to stop the process. The guard is loose and flops around. Considering I was holding my dog's paw with one hand and clipping with the other, there was no way I could hold the guard in place. If you purchase this product, do so with caution. In no way does this reflect on Chewy's outstanding service.

Works for me

I will agree with others they do look cheap & are small & the rubber handles do slip off occasionally but they work good on my Aussie's nails. They cut clean & smooth. I was surprised because I have 6 different nail clippers that work okay but these are my favorite. I can see exactly how much I am cutting. It helps that Penny's nails are all white and easy to see the blood line. My papi not so much so I have to be careful.

Don’t waste your money

Only tried using these one time. The nail guard was too loose and kept flipping open, the spring fell off and one of the rubber handle covers fell off. Went straight in the trash. This is the first item I have purchased from Chewy that I have been disappointed in.

Substandard quality

The principal reason to bought the clipper was the to protect the nails during clipping from cutting through the quick. Well, it did not work because the blocking piece has been too loose. Good idea, but poor quality of the manufacturer.

My Favorite Nail Clippers!

These by far are my favorite! They are sharp and don’t make a very loud cutting sound like others I’ve tried, that loud noise scares most of the dogs I cut. So appreciate how quick and quiet these are. And I like the guard on the back, helps avoid clipping the “quick”. Making the experience for the dogs much nicer ! Love it!

Al prefers these! Doesn’t mind when I clip his nails now

I was using clippers that came bundled with a brush. They seemed to work well for cutting but the lock was loose and was annoying so I decided to purchase these since Millers Forge are the brand I had used by whole life. Al no longer pulls his paws away for cutting and these don’t make the same sound the others did. They are very smooth and seem to be more comfortable for my puppy. He is 9mo old 70lb boy who now doesn’t mind nail trimming.
