Can this be used by the mouth. My 6 month old puppy seems to always get my 3 year old dog in the lip area. Mostly under the bottom of mouth while playing. Wondering only if either of them were to lick it if harmful?
Answer by ChewyMar 21, 2018
This gel quickly helps stop bleeding from minor cuts and nail clippings. This product is external use only. This gel is safe for you dog to lick.

Does this gel leave a stain ? Some styptic powders are yellow and leave stains on white coats.
Answer by ChewyDec 27, 2018
It may leave a stain.

Is this good for tail docking?
Answer by ChewyMay 06, 2018
This product is only intended to stop bleeding from minor cuts and nail clippings.

Based on reviews, I see product is great fro stopping a bleed, but does it also act as a shield or barrier to prevent dirt or debris from entering the wound and causing infection?
Answer by ChewyNov 28, 2017
This item is made to stop the bleeding and to ease pain and itching only. It does not keep the wound from getting dirty.

Excellent product

The gel form of this styptic product is so easy to use. Much better than the powder, that can be very messy. It is always the hope that this won't be needed when trimming dog nails, but when it happens, this stops the bleed quickly and sticks to the nail nick much better than the powder.

Easy Gel to use

I love the gel form!! My dog has a habit of breaking her nails. I can use this to hold them together as they grow out. Also great to have on hand for my birds.

Unfortunately, I can not endorse this one product I received. It looked like the contents had leaked all over the bottle. Also, the product doesn’t seem to work like I have had it work In the past.

Kwik-Stop Liquid Gel for dogs

Highly recommend, this works fast to stop bleeding when cutting nails if you cut to close and accidentally nip the quick. Shake bottle place a dab on a Q-Tip press on nail and hold for 10 seconds and bleeding stops.

Easy to Use

Worked so much better than the powder have been using torturing my dog for 12 years clipping constantly growing nails. Seemed to stop the bleeding quicker and not messy to use and less annoyance to the dog.

Kwik Stop Gel

Works great. Our old cat has a sore on his chin and when he tries to clean he catches it with his paw and it bleeds. This stops it righ away.

WORKS PERFECTLY

I clip my little dog's nails, she jumped, just as I clipoed and pushed her toe way forward - had nothing to use, held her and put pressure, called my aunt, frantic, she brought this over and it stopoed the bleeding almost instantly! I ordered the next day, my little boy did the same thing the next week. so grateful I had this on hand!

DON'T DO IT!

Get the original Kwik Stop with benzocaine and call it done. I thought this would be better being liquid instead of powder. Nope. Not even close. Not only did it come in a bottle stained with the fluid even with the seal unbroken, like it's staining THROUGH the plastic container. Once I did open it, there was a huge chunk of the fluid that had dried and made a ''plug'' that I had to fight to get out. When I did try it on one of my macaw's toenails, it did nothing. Absolutely nothing. He just bled right through it and it dripped off with the blood even while holding pressure on his toe vein. Thankfully I still had a little Kwik Stop left on hand that worked instantly. This does nothing but make a dark brown stain on everything it touches. Not worth it.
