Questions & Answers

10 Customer Questions

Should we cleanse the ear before applying the drops each time? Or cleanse the ears once just once a day?
Answer by ChewyJul 15, 2018
It is recommended to use the ear cleanser first, applying with a swab and only clean the outer portions of the ear. Do not go down into the ear canal with the swab. Then use 10 drops of the ear mite treatment down in the ear canal. Wait 2 to 3 days. Then repeat this process. If the condition does not improve after 2 or 3 treatments, please contact your veterinarian for further advice and treatment. Also exercise caution when using on young puppies and/or kittens.

What’s the lifespan of ear mites in a cat? Looking to see how long treatment should last
Answer by ChewyMay 22, 2019
Adult ear mites live about 2 months, during which time they continually reproduce. Additionally, it takes approximately 3 weeks for a mite to develop from egg to adult.

Can it be used on kittens ten weeks old?
Answer by ChewyOct 13, 2022
This ear treatment should not be used on cats or dogs under 12 weeks of age.

Am I able to put this on a cotton pad and wipe it in my dogs ear? He doesn't stay still long enough for me to put drops in; I'd be wasting it.
Answer by ChewyDec 06, 2018
It's recommended to use this treatment as drops to ensure the soulition penarates the wax within your dog's ear.

Worked Great

Worked great and helped our Henry dogs poor ears! A little difficult to put 10 drops in 1 year old, 70 pound, golden retrievers ears, but we managed and he has not had issues since!

Perk up those ears!

This is our go-to product in our rescue! Ear mites are horrible in feral cats, and this an easy-to-apply, highly effective treatment. We swear by it! The accompanying ear wash is soothing and flushes out foreign bodies when they shake their head. Highly recommend that you get both if you work with outdoor animals!

For extreme use ONLY!

I worked with getting rid of crust/infection. However I smelled pretty strong as well as I wouldn't used it everyday because the chemical did string my dogs ear

Works as Described, and Smells VERY Good

I have 2 cats; was suckered in to getting each (shelter-bought) a year apart, by the wife and kids. Fast forward four years and the kids brought home an adolescent stray. Our 2 ended up catching ear mites from said stray. This product works wonders IF used according to the instructions. I grab the cats by the scruff of their neck (like a mother cat does) and squirt the drops into their ears. I then massage the ear canal from the outside, like most cats enjoy. I tried the blanket method and ended up scratched all over my arms. Use the scruff method! Within 3 days, our cats weren't scratching but here and there. It works very well. A bonus is the smell, which persists for weeks. It's a lovely "clean" smell. I highly recommend this prodict when used correctly.

A wonderful product, my dog appeared to tolerate this product better than the other ear mite treatment.

Ear mite med

Messy, as soon as you turn it over to put in ear it is running all over, hard to know how many drops come out. Wish it was thicker, think it comes back out as soon as pup shakes head

Misleading

The box says a kit with two-2 fluid ounces containing Pyrethrins and Piperonyl Butoxide which is what kills the mites. One if the bottles inside does not contain those active ingredients. That bottle is just a cleaner, which I did not need.
